Tip : you take your chances when buying used from unknown source

If you do buy used , buy from a trustworthy source , otherwise you will more than likely get a lemon but have a very slim chance of getting the yummy lemonade

+1.

Or don't do it. There are numerous GOOD, NEW motors at the 200$ price point that it's difficult to justify buying a USED motor from an unknown source. Motors are one of the only RC items I will not buy used because there are so many unknowns.

Other tip If it starts off (NICE) 1 gallon ran through.

Don't do it.

hahaha

How did do you rip off the inside of the front bearing like that?

YOU WILL (ALWAYSWIN) IF YOU JUST BUY NEW. HAHAHAHHA

JUST LIKE TO SHARE...

Don't do what I did trying to save a little cash.

Buy new and never sell a USED MOTOR TO anyone. Its not worth it b.c. its your name on the line. Trust is hard to get back once you scew over to many people..

lesson learned

When a stranger offers you "candy" don't take it.
Didn't your mamma teach you that?

No doubt its a gamble, but if cheap enough, I'll role the dice. Just have to keep your expectations low and be prepared to send p/s out for service....

ask for a pic of the exhaust port at the very least. The used engine that I just purchased was supposed to be "just professionally broken in with no other run time". Well it came with a pipe I wanted to try that looked fairly new so I never removed the exhaust to look inside. Fired it up and ran it around the track for no less than half a lap and then this.

Definitely not a run in and a half a laps worth of running on this engine

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

That carbon buildup is definately not from break in. I've had a professional break in service done before and the engine internals looked brand new when I opened it up to check it out.

Lesson learned, never buy used. I ended up buying a new b6 pro and a break in stand to do it myself from here on out
