Default 2Speed Clutch Bell - Issues

Hey All

I installed a two speed clutch on my 1/8 scale looks great...except the moment I give it some throttle the first gear comes spinning off. Is it possible that I have it mounted in correctly?

Thanks,

Default geez...

I'm starting to think the answer is a little lock-tight (thread lock)...

Mechanike - here are the photos...notice that clutch bell is a two speed. My issue is that the smaller (front) gear on the clutch will spin free once I give it a little throttle. I suspect thread lock could be a fix but...I'm just wondering if I have something installed backwards.

Rustlerfan47 - let's just say it is a highly modifed Traxxas vehicle (LOL). Or else the mods may move this post.

Default Hmmm...

Hmmm...looking at these photos seems like i should try and get the clutch bell and the spur gear to overlap just a little more. Does it matter?

That alignment is so far out your going to constantly strip gears and i can't see it even working in 2nd with 3/4ers of the 2nd pinion on the 1st spur.

can you move the motor forward?

Intersting mod to the revo there. You definatly need to move the gear mesh closer to center to get the system running right first. And then tighten the ever loving snot out of the gears.

I just thought of thos but most cars that have thins sort of setup have gears that are reverse or forward thread so that as the gear spins its going to want to tighten itself... This coukd potentially but the issue but if you are going to put any kind of threadlock on there make sure thise are the gears you want as you will likely be stuck with them.

Curacer2- I'll give it a try...if not the motor or the spur gear maybe I can find a longer 2-speed clutch bell...
Boinker -You got the vehicle type correct on the first guess

You may have your engine mounts on backwards

Hey. I think that guy might be up to something. 4 speeds in a revo is going to be interesting. What kind of top end are you looking for or does this thing have a low gear ratio to create a short shift system?

BrakeTurnAccelerate - Mount is on correctly...it's a Qoncepts BB mount. The engine installed currently is a Picco 26. I went so far to obtain the mount specific for engine and model car...the issue then is that the clutch bell does not reach the spur gear at all....
