Losi 8ight t 454 flywheel spins freely, no compression
Hi all,
I have a brand new Losi 8ight 2.0 t and after carefully breaking it in and having a little fun with it, now the engine doesn't start. I poked around and I noticed that the flywheel spins absolutely freely, no compression whatsoever. I took the plug out and watched and I can't see the piston moving while I am spinning the flywheel. I used to get hydralocked while starting the engine the first few times and I'd have to push the flywheel back. What should I check, what can I do to troubleshoot further? Tim |
sounds like your flywheel came loose. take off clutch bell and tighten your fly wheel and you should be good to go.

Ok, I will give it a try. Thanks.

For sure your its your clutch nut I would clean the threads with Carb cleaner or cleaner before tightening up again

UPDATE:
You were right it was the clutch nut. What happened is that I took the engine out of the kit and tried the remove the clutch bell but I couldn't hold on to the fly wheel in order to stop the crank from spinning. So we had to remove the exhaust and stick a ziptie (or some other soft thing) into the chamber in order to stop the piston from moving up and down. Then I could remove the clutch bell and tighten the flywheel. 10 minutes all done and everything is working. Thanks for your advice. |
