Hello friends, last month I bought the heater thunder innovation is a very clean well-made object, but unfortunately I did not reach the right temperature declared, I contacted the company Hobbies Pro USA explained the problem and they told me very politely that I would sent a new article. This I find very good trade policy towards the consunatore and serious, I recommend the purchase of thunder innovation.
Greetings.

I always wondered why the heaters were so expensive. A friend of mine and I use this simple heater that he made and I think it was $17 and I have a new pad to make a better one but the new pad is 150 watt and gets over 400 degrees so I am going to add a dial so I can turn it up and down. I know it is a great idea and they think 1/8 guys will pay anything but!!! Never Mind just my thoughts.

Me too, that is why we are distributing the Thunder innovation heater that sells for half of the other ones out there.

I looked at putting one together using the same heating elements that Thunder & Comp use (chemistry flask heaters). It would have been much more than the $65 I paid for the Thunder version that came all wired and ready to go.

I could not find a cheap heating pad that was small enough and would get to 200F.

Guys, nothing personal. I'm all about saving money and do it yourself, but the truth is, all of these homemade pieces look, well to put it nicely, homemade. Plus they seem bulky and cumbersome. I purchased a Thunder Innovations heater this week, and it works great!! It is small and fits in the pit bag without taking up a bunch of room. It appears to be a quality made piece, I am very pleased so far.

How does that velcro do @ 200F? I removed all the velcro from my Thunder heater because it was melting and smoking.

The velcro doesn't melt. The cover is made out of a $5 chinese lipo bag. I added an extra layer of fiberglass roof insulation inside too. But still I don't see how 200F would be hot enough to melt almost anything except butter. Plastic's melting point is way more than 200F
