Default Full ceramic Boca engine bearing

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has tried using this full ceramic bearing on an off road engine. Even the body of this bearing is ceramic. Is there any improvement and how does it hold up to the stress?

Thanks

engine vibration would destroy the bearing... if you could even get it in the engine without cracking the rings.

the bearing is made for nitro engines, yet it will get destroyed when instaling it? uh huh.

Since they made it for this application, I would have guessed the bearing to be sturdy.

Looks nice though, I wonder if it functions better.

Boca needs to fix there website... those bearings will not work in nitro engines.. i have tried them.. and they got destroyed.. they then took them off and now they are back.. so i emailed them and they said it was not suitable for micro engine applications

Default full ceramic engine bearings

hey there guys, thanks for the interest in the full ceramic bearings. unfortunately we have not had very many successes with the full ceramics in RC engines, so we would not recommend it. the link you saw earlier is to a bearing that we sell into many markets, none of them rc the full ceramics are ideally suited to extreme environments like chemical baths, vacuum applications, super high or low temperatures etc.

ceramic balls are harder than steel balls but the ceramic races can be brittle. they seem to install ok and they run great for a little while, but eventually the vibrations destroy the races. if you are looking for this bearing that is suited for rc engines then we have that here

bocabearings.com/bearing-inventory/Radial-Bearings/13878/MX253142ET46C33AF2-142x253x6

and here

bocabearings.com/bearing-inventory/Radial-Bearings/13879/MX253142CET46C33AF2-142x253x6

the first link is the standard bearing and second link is the ceramic hybrid version. hope that clears things up, let me know if you have any other questions.
