Problem With O.S. XZ-B .21
Hey what's up everyone just another cool dude enjoying this new cool hobby/sport of offroad racing.
Anyway I was hoping someone could help me here. I was using a Ninja .21 which was great but have decided to go with both the new O.S. XZ-B21 speed and regular v spec versions. When I was putting on my clutch shoes etc. on the regular xz-b v spec .21 I noticed that the crankshaft is too short to put on the clutch bell without it grabbing. I am putting this engine on a Kyosho MP9 and using the Kyosho parts. Do I need to order a specific part in order to make this engine work for the Kyosho MP9? So far the Speed version is having no problems but then again the crankshaft is longer in fact I believe it is identical to the Ninja .21 Thanks in advance....all my Local Hobby Shop can tell me is that I have the on road version and not the offroad. I never heard of such a thing the engine is definately an XZ-B and this is very odd being that this is the store that I bought it from. |
you need this
http://http://www.amainhobbies.com/p...ide-Washer-Set and this http://http://www.amainhobbies.com/p...lutch-Shim-Set I had to use them also on the XZ-B. The crankshaft is a bit short |
Thanks actually I have all those in hand already. I was using the 3 x .2mm shims on the clutch shoes maybe I need to use the smaller .1 shims?
I'll figure this all out. Thanks again. |
Clutch shimming takes a little time and patience but once you get it right it's set. Kyosho makes the best clutch shim kit out there .1,.2,.3 shims so you cN fine tune it.

Answer RC makes the same clutch kit and it's less $$. Just throwing that out there.

I actually have about 4 sets of the Kyosho shim sets mentioned as well as the short flywheel setup kit. I just did not realize the extra piece that comes in the package in the shims is actually there to lengthen the rod so that it can have some play and not drag. I have it all set up now it has just a little play and spins very smooth. I'll be breaking in the v spec tomorrow. Once again thanks for the advice. What is it about all these hobby shops claiming to know everything really know nothing. I knew darn well I did not purchase the on road version and figured it was a simple fix. |
7mm carb insert OS.21XZ-B
does anyone run their engine without the carb insert?
