I was just wondering every ones opinion on what the best and or perfect nitro rc temp gun is. I'm in the market for a new one. ?????????????????

I could never see spending the money on an Exergen, if I'm spending 300 bucks I'm buying a motor. I have been using a cheap temp gun Odonnel makes. I think it was about $20 and seems to be close enough. I have compared to an exergen and it is always within a few degrees. I don't rely on temp too much, I only check when I think the engine is too lean to make sure it doesn't get too hot.

We use the exergen. I feel its worth the money. I work in an industry that the old homage you get what you pay for is true.

save your money, most pros will tell you to throw your temp gun in the garbage. dont tune to temp, sound and smoke is the way to go

I check the same way but using it for after a round to check on my nitro and electric cars to look for over temping doesnt hurt. But this is one of the subjects that comes up and there will be 10000000 different opinions.

To each his own. I have used the $30 models and the $60 gun type (worthless) and nothing replaces the exergen. 1000% exergen if you are looking for the best. Most of the $30 models work well too but exergen is king. And they are $259 not $300. Hahaha

U guys will laugh at me but I use the losi spectrum temp deal on the car. Its about 2 degrees off But close enuff for my redneck butt. Then I and old ofna temp gun.

what makes it a $300 temp gun? unless the others are off by 10+ degrees, I dont see how it would make that much of a difference. Im not bashing, just curious

The sensor in it. How accurate it is. I have and exergen that is the same they use in hospitals for my kids. Wish it read higher but only does human temps lol
