Quick question: do i really need exhaust hanger??

I always replace the grub screw with a socket head cap screw.They require a larger allen key to install and you can get a way better crank on them.I never have issues with mine coming loose and I dont use locktite.

get a coathanger and custom make you one. There is nothing to it, it will take about as much time as it did for you to come up with this thread and type it.
better yet get you a 2.0 L shaped allen wrench and cut to fit.
OR
go to hobby lobby or a hardware store and get the biggest diameter wire that will fit.
easy.
but don't ever run without one, bad things will happen. Just trust me on that.

Sorry, for threads resurrection. But I was just looking around looking for answers to this question about Exhaust Hangers. I have an Aprilia RSV 1000 and my mate reckons you don't need a hanger. Googling doesn't really bring up any answers.
I did find a blog post by Evotech Performance, they reckon it's a good thing to have...and wondered what you guys thought?
I'm trying to get real biker opinion before I commit any money.

1.) Put an Xacto knife on the bottom of your side pod. Spin it 'till it makes a little hole.
2.) Drill out the end of your pipe.
3.) Put a long button head screw through the side pod. Bolt it down with a lock nut and washer.
4.) spray the bolt down with TAG body spray.
5.) slide pipe down onto screw and secure it with the pipe setscrew and red thread lock in the pipe hanger hole (not on the setscrew threads/hole)
6.) Put lock nut over pipe.
7.)????????
8.) Profit

I did the same thing and I ruined my seal and ruined a part of my tape
