I ran the new X7 this past weekend at the Canadian Indoor Shootout and had a great first weekend out with it. What a sweetheart of an engine! It was cold all weekend long with temps in the 30's so my tune was very rich as it was breaking in and the oxygen density was high so I ran it conservative so run times were not anywhere close to what they will be. I was seeing potential for 11+ when I intially tuned it in but it was in the 60's when I broke it in and tuned it intially. I went 3 hours into Canada and was blasted with snow, rain, sleet and hail all weekend long. Good thing the race was indoors! No heated building and open air made it for a chilly race weekend so I fattened the engine way up and was in the 7-8 min club most of the weekend. I could have leaned on it harder but I was being safe as it will be my primary engine for the season and I didn't want to hurt the first race out. The engine pulled like a freight train from bottom to top and most areas I only needed 1/4- 1/2 throttle so it had alot of power in reserve. The torqueband is very strong but very efficient so putting efficient power to the ground was a pleasure. The 2011 808 I ran it in was planted all weekend long and I was very impressed with both car and engine. I think this just became my new favorite buggy engine, but will still work very well in a truggy!
