With very rich tune my truggy went head to head from standing start against fully break in B5 truggy. As you can see the truggy squat when throttle is applied that shows it has a good low end torque. At 1 gal no problems so far with the carb the tune is good. I run the engine very hard after 3/4 gal so far so good.

Here is another video of st-rr with even more stickier mud after heavy rain just to see if it can push the truggy around.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1GI-i-mO-A. As you can see in the video the engine push the truggy without effort with extra weight due to mud sticking on the wheel and arms. The engine did not bog down by listening to the sound of it though the carb is still rich.

This is the video of my buggy with Go engine 3 port race. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4R2RH_-Hkg. The buggy run on extra weight also due to mud sticking on inside wheels and arms. Again it hit the power band right away no bogging at all running on sticky mud. I have problem running my buggy with 5+1 port Lrp zx.21r out of corner as it is lacking of low down torque. The Go 3 port run as good as OS Vspec it has more than 7 gal is still running strong and I only replaced front bearing so far. I hope .a 21 rr engine last a long time too.Thanks.

skbb.., so you like that Go 3-port R? I just bought a buggy roller that came with one newly broken in..(with 2041) I already have a few engines, but you're not the first one to mention that the Go 3-port R is good.. So maybe I should keep it? Also had a Caster btw, and it was great(with 053 pipe)

I have a new Argus waiting to go in something, but if you reckon the Go is all that good, maybe I'll give it a go first.. I know this is not directly on-topic, but maybe it is useful to just hear how the different engines compare.. There are so many new ones out there.. The Axial is priced where I might consider one some day too..

Hi Herrsavage;as you can see from the video the GO Spec R is good for buggy it has decent speed too. I run it on Lrp 3038 bottom end pipe. I run 11 min on small tight track with 8 mm venturi. The only thing you have to do is to seal up the carbs where there are joints all round and thats about it. If not they tend to run weird and having tuning issues. Mine last a long time 9 gals easy and I run at full throttle most of the time just to find out if it can take a stand against the abused. It can push the truggy easy as well.

Ive learned the hard way that an engine is only as good as the Carb that's attached to it. Been through about 12 different engines now and only Nova, OS and werks have carbs that I would dare run on my engines. All these years of experimenting have drawn me to the conclusion that it does not matter if its a great engine for $100, if the carb is crap, the engine is crap. From here on out the cheapest engine I will run is a WERKS.

Default carbs

The Axial has a big advantage over most of the other Taiwanese engines, it has a composite carb. No one should be running a full metal carb these days. The best carbs use a nylon sleeve on the engine side of the carb and some use a composite carb body. One reason some replace the AlphaPlus carbs is because they are a full metal carb with no insulating sleeve.

Don't know what to say. I have a Go, MG66 and an Alpha. They definitely do not have composite carbs.

sure they do...the main body is plastic with a steel support sleeve that goes down into the engine...no different then this Axial !

Default Axial engine DYNO

I've finally got round to breaking in the axial...man there tight and the needles from factory are all wrong, far to lean in my case but its getting there...most go through starter box batteries I'm going through hairdryers. Anyway thought I'd let everyone no that this has been dyno'd now. It can be found at axialracing.com/ftp/engines/Xtreme_06_2011_Axial_21RR-1.pdf[/url]. It won't let me post links sorry
looks good..
