Lance, Quick question, Brand new stock A52, when you break it in, do you find you have to lean it in a bit from factory setting to get it started the first time?? I have always done heat cycle method, not sure how you do your break in.. ... Hopefully be breaking mine in this weekend.. Thanks..

drdsanders 12-06-2011 08:48 AM

Stock setting was very rich on the high end. A litter rich on the low. And the idle was bit high. My A52 has a little over a gal and idles over 200. I'm still running slightly rich and am coming off the track around 230 deg in 60 degree weather. I went up a tooth on my clutch bell and don't have the room to reach top speed. She performed great and I took 4th in sportsman buggy at last weekends fall brawl in Myrtle Beach. Great track run by great people.

Thanks for the input, im hopfully breaking it in thursday, From past experiences, you never know just how rich some engines are from the factory, and some can be a total pain to fire up the first time.. ..

Sorry, Have been Busy with some projects latley . Yes I find most of the time the Argus comes with the needles too rich. And we have to lean them out to get it to Idle To do the break in. We put the HSN flush and lean the LSN to get it to run for the break in.

twitch_1 12-08-2011 11:35 PM

Whats a 2057 pipe like on these motors???????

jabroni racing 12-09-2011 11:23 AM

So far, Break in has been FLwless.. Dropped it on the box, leaned in the top end 1/4 turn, fired it up and just turned up my throttle trim a tad to keep it idle'ing.. full tank idled at 185.. next tank, fired up, idles for about 1 min, then on the ground to start heat cycling it.. Leaned the top in a little more to be able to drive it, ran it half a tank, 200 degrees, cooled, next half tank, same thing, so far, i couldnt be happier with break in..

[QUOTE=Rcrenew;10018372]The new model Argus engines (A5 & D52) Are in stock and up on the Website.

Any news on the B52 or was it renamed to D52? HOw was the performance of the new engines compared to the A52?

Kevin_M 12-10-2011 11:26 AM

Lance took my modified motor out today for first time with the 2090 pipe with the 7,5mm stinger. Ran 2 tanks through it. The outside temps were low 40s heated up the engine to 200 and ran well. From early runs the 2090 pipe sounds good. Ran it on the rich side for a few more tanks if weather holds.

I may think the 2090 pipe may be better for the motor with just the right amount of bottom end.

Yes, the B52 was renamed D52 for the U.S market. But they are the same.

Yes the 2090 Is an awesome pipe. The A5 will be better on fuel mileage and have a more linear feel. The D52 has a more aggressive powerband and a bit more power, but at the expense of a little mileage compared to the A5.

Compared to the A52 the D52 is similar but will have more power and a smoother powerband.

Thanks,
Lance
