I recently picked up a roller package with a bunch of stuff - engines, etc.. Including two pipes - a 2041 and the NR 9901 pipe with long and short headers..

That brings my pipe collection to:

1.) JP-4
2.) Dynamite 053
3.) Go 2047
4.) 2063 (fave pipe so far..)
5.) Mielke 2041 - really popular in Germany.. Seemed good on the Go 3-port I got with the buggy..
6.) NR 9901 with long and short headers

Would really like to be able to go with one of what I already have instead of buying a new one.. Absolutely cannot find an SH 3033 here in Germany, and don't want to order from abroad - or at all really...

Look at efra compared to alpha 801 or sh pipe. That would be ur best match until u can get the right one.

From that list I have only tried the JP4 and it was amazing! So much power that I needed to go up a gear on the clutchbell in my truggy. I couldn't even tell the difference but made it much easier to drive.
I am sticking with the JP4 in my truggy, and 3033 in the buggy and will see how it goes

My buddy is running a 9901 with a long header on a argus in his buggy he said he loves it really smooth with plenty of power.

I ran the 9901 with the short header first up on this motor and it was an animal had so much power but found it to be like a light switch all or nothing but fun to drive

Yep the Argus has got some major power  The sh 3033 really smooths it out, to much for me in truggy but Its an awesome buggy pipe. I still like the F0801 pipe the best for truggy. Very punchy and great mid and top to go with it.

Thanks everybody for the tips. This will be in heavy-ish RC8B, and I want all-out power, especially top-end.. "Smoothness" is further down the list... So 9901 with short header than for starters... Thanks.

Also good to know that the 3033 is a "smoothness" (which means taming afaic) pipe.. So I'll stop looking for one.. :p

I have been looking at dropping one of these in my bug. What kind or run times are you guys getting and what kind of plugs are you putting in it? Thanks.

lazyboy12300 07-24-2011 03:59 AM

I am running OS P3 plugs I mine.
On dirt I am getting about 10:30-11mins runtime.
On high grip astro I was getting closer to 12:30 calculated!!
Really depends on how you drive, but 10mins should be easy in both buggy and truggy

Hope this helps
Scott

they are great in a buggy as for run time i'm getting about 8.30 mins to 9 mins with a 7 mm venture and a 2035 pipe a love it in my buggy and an oddonnell 97t plug on 25% fuel....

In buggy Rutimes are right at 9.5 to 10.5 for buggy, in truggy they are at 10.5 to 11 minutes. With our mod version we have been getting 12 to 12.5 minutes in truggy. Our tracks are very looose out here as well.

For us out here in californina the RC-Pro or Werks #5 or 6 seem to work and last the best. We have not had good luck with the OS plugs out here in the Argus.

Why is the truggy getting better run time that buggy? Is it because of wheel spin? Also, are these run times with the 3033 pipe or something different? I noticed someone said they were using the 2035 pipe. Just trying to find the best solution before I pull the trigger. Thanks.

Truggies have larger fuel tanks and even though they are heavier and have larger tires, generally truggies will get more runtime per tank than a buggy.

Buggy those times are with the 3033 and truggy with the F0801 pipes.

There are a lot of good pipes ot there but with all of Our and Argus testing these are the 2 we have narrowed it down the the overall best for the Argus in our opinion.

2081 would be next on the list for us.

Thanks,

the only reason i run the 2035 is because i like the smooth yet agressive power band it delivers for me and the fuel milage isn't that bad.... But the power is second to none...

Ya, The 2035 is one of those pipes that work well on many different engines, We got a couple as well.
