So the first day out with my moded R8 was a success. Engine is still not completely broke in yet but has loads of power. I used a 6mm ventury, had plenty of smoke, temps around 250 & around 6 minutes on a tank. Does this sound normal for a engine still braking in.

Yes, once it's drops its nuts and you put a race tune on it and balance out the needles the runtimes will increase drastically.

I know every engine is different so what kind of temps should I expect and what should I avoid.
Thanks again, Travis

For breakin keep it between 200-220
After that I try not to go above 270 but its more about if you still have enough of a smoke trail with the performance your looking for. I asked the same question its a couple pages back with more answers. These engines do tend to run warmer then some other engines.

Page 98 has some answers on temps

Interested in hearing how you like it in the buggy. Love my R8 in truggy, thinking of trying it in buggy before deciding to get another or D52.

Yes it should do just fine buggy. Have another engine similar to these here. I ran it in buggy and truggy. Please keep in mind though the one im getting is for runtime. It will not make so much power from what im told.

I am stoked to be on the Argus team! Thanks Rex for taking me mid season, but now I will have my engine program back on track with what suits me best. I have had great luck with these engines in the past and look forward to finishing the year strong with them!

You know he is one great guy. I had just put a order in before the holiday. This was after talking to Rex. I just got my brand new r8 in today when I saw the label I was like a big kid that just got his first bike. Cant wait to fire this up. Also I got my r8 with s fuel mod and back plate mod also. As well as the lapping is a must for easier break in. I already got 3 and half gallons on my 23 it still screams like a champ. Now to do some major build on trying to get my 4 cars back together.
