Default Exergen temp gun at Target

Exergen sells a similar looking temp gun to our ever trusty $250 Exergen gun that we all use in RC, but it's only $33 @ Target.

I'm sure it works very well, perhaps the same readings even would be my guess. It doesn't look as burly as the expensive ones we use in RC, but someone on a budget (most of us) may benifit from this gun.

Has anyone bought one? Know anything about it? I love my gun, but at over $200 it was hard to pull the trigger on it.

That temp gun is for measuring forehead body temps. I don't think it goes high enough to measure the temps of a nitro engine. I could be wrong, but i bet the internals are completely different. I've got an axial temp gun that does what i need it to, i'll just stick with it.

Ahhh. Bummer. I have the nice one, but saw that at Target and thought I may be onto something. Oh well. Get out your wallets I guess.

Spit and smoke test. I have an Exergen gun, but havent used it in a year. Actually had some guy temp my mills after the A mains at the Rc Pro Finals, and they both came in at exactly 225 degrees. Could have easily made 10, but pitted at 9. I love my Novas!!

Anyone knows where I can get the front rubber
for the Exergen to protect the temp gun head?

There are lesser Exergen temp guns that have an appropriate temp range available if you look. If you examine the specs, the one that they market to the RC world is much more accurate than the others. (not that a high degree of accuracy is really necessary for our needs)

Default Temp gun

I just purchased one of these and was wondering the same thing about the rubber piece. I don't think it's just an exhaust tip. Look liked it was made for it the one I saw anyway.

The exergen temp gun is worth having in your tool box. It has many uses in your pit box.
