clocked JL or P7R Evo 3
 

I'm considering one of these motors. I ran the K9 so I have an idea of what a clocked JL will do. It seems the EVO3 is the bad boy so I'm leaning in that direction. How to p6th plugs compare to ODO 97 or 99 plugs. I only run odo97t plugs in my K9 so I'm wondering if they would work for the Evo3 or the 99t since its colder.

good to see you guys taking off. The only modder out there that gives me good vibes and NFMH seems to be having too much fun with the clocked motors and I want in lol..

I have had glowplugs last well past 2 gallons...however I do find that after 1/2-1 gallon the glowplugs start to fade, they may still work, but they do not run as crisp as a new plug will... Over time I guess the reactivity of the plug diminishes... So IMO the best bet is to keep the plugs as fresh as you can, especially if you are racing and looking for optimal performance and reliability

The OD plugs do not seem to last as long in the modified engines, the OD99 being the only one I would consider..... The OD plugs seem to work quite fine in most stock engines, but in my modifieds they seem to be more fragile and less reliable then a plug like a Picco P6TH....You can use the OD, but they definitely will not function as well or reliably as a Picoo plug will...

I got another afternoon in with the Clocked B6. This thing is a cheetah on the straights and a grizzly coming out of the corners. All the while, highly controllable. I'm in love.

lost and found Clocked Picco Evo 3!
 

Well the UPS guy came and went and I got my delivery confirmation, but my package never showed. Found it down the street at the neighbors house lol. I was about to do a Denzel cause King Kong ain't got nothing on me!!!

Thanks Neal! Hard to believe the package went this far and gets lost on my street. Can't wait to fire this puppy up and see what she got. Definitely get the heavy duty gasket cause the one with the motor will NOT fit the header pipe.

Now if my other lost package with my new tank shows up we're in business. The public servants have it out for me this week lol..

Wow ! thankfully you tracked that down...it would have sucked to have lost that engine !

lol, thanks:D I was pretty impressed when I opened it up, especially at how perfect the piston grooves were, and the shape of the crank. With the RPM that this engine cranks out, it's hard to believe it could look so healthy.

Well I went to the track today and ran some more. I was the only one there and was able to drive quite a bit. I just can't stop loving this Clockwork B5! I can certainly say that I can pit at 10 minutes during a race, under any condition at our track.The last time I tried was the race where I ran the 10 minute B main with no pitstops, and still had 50ml of fuel left in my tank ( I run a metered Jammin X2 tank in my RC8T ), and I also only pitted once during the 20 minute A-Main.

Today, I timed some more tanks, and I was getting anywhere from 12:30 to 12:46 per tank, running it dry..a little less than the last time ( I'm guessing atmosphere-related ), but still quite respectable for a .21 that makes .28 power..this thing just balloons the front wheel all the way down the straight, and has such a smooth powerband..I can't ask for better!!!:D:tire::D This is the perfect truggy engine IMO..it has to be felt to be believed.

I will keep buying these engines until something better comes along ( it would have to be something PRETTY special..)

The other night we decided to run our main with rules being that whoever ran out of fuel last Won !!! The modified B5 won and went 11:50 till dry, with the fastest avg MPH of all the trucks on the track by 2 mph 15 mph vs 13 mph, our local track is small, but it is notorious for bad runtimes....Two mod JPX 21's went 10:30 till dry running avg 13 MPH....It was actually pretty cool to see all the engines actual fuel mileage....

Hey Nitro, how do you have your M2C flywheel set up with weights, and what springs? I'm just putting one together to try for the 1st time with my new clocked B5? Can't wait to fire it up...

Neal, a couple weeks ago, my best friend and I timed 3 tanks back-to-back, all over 14 minutes. Many factors played a part in these runtimes ( weather, a fresh plug was one major factor, and your fuel I believe is another worth noting ) I'm quite sure I can pit at 11 minutes, but with 20 minute mains, there's no point, and it leaves me a nice safety cushion. The powerband and power output is the real is the high point of this engine, and the mileage makes it a gem. I'm currently running the JP3 pipe on it and think it's a great combo for racing. I plan on trying the 2013 pipe again though.

Well to be honest Jeff, I haven't used any of the weights, but have been toying with the idea. I run the 1.0 springs and it smooth as silk, and still has plenty of snap when I need it. I can clear our triple with a shorter run up than any of the other .21 powered truggies I run with. I can only imagine how a Clocked B5 would feel in a lighter truggy like an MBX6T..I'm guessing you'd want to use the weights with a light truggy. My truggy weighs 9lbs 4oz ready-to-race, my buddy Chad's MBX6T ( Nova FMS powered ) I think weighs 8.5 lbs if I remember correctly, so the power difference would be quite noticeable with that much drop in weight.
