Hey Mark, don't suppose the new go engine would have any zilla type mods by any stretch of the imagiation, maybe?
Quite frankly, no Go engine that i have run to date, comes anywhere near the Zilla Family for overall performance, reliability, and ease of tuning.
The old 7 port, Gold head would be the only one that comes close.
After our phone chat the other day, might have to go back to nitro, buy a Darth Vader Mask, put 2 resperators in it, call myself " Resperator Racing" sponsered by NAA as you suggested.:tire:
Happy New Year mate. Zilla on:batman:

Sweet, I'll keep my eyes open for it

Stalkie 01-03-2013 08:19 AM

YES ! Stalkie did get a good deal, Zilla R1 now has a good home :D :D

NAA ALL THE WAY

NAA 01-05-2013 10:21 PM

Well after much consulting with mr engine modder we decided we will put it on the NAA web site.

We will probably post it on the engines page. Have a looksy tell us what you think, its not finished but its coming along.,

Hi,
Could someone please tell me the corect gasket mm for 25% fuel in mg66 engine
Also in which go engine is based on and where can i find an exploded view of the spare parts for the engine?(rod, front bearing...)
I just bought one second hand and i m lost:weird:
Pipe and glow plug recomendations would also help.
Thank you in advance for any answers.

Stalkie 01-11-2013 06:45 AM

http://www.rctech.net/forum/members/...2789-large.jpg

Shimming for the MG66 and Godzilla is 0.4mm
Plug that most like to run is the Odonell 97T
Best pipe would be the GO 2072

For more info try the MG66 page here... http://www.rctech.net/forum/offroad-...e-mods-19.html

Thank you mr Stalkie.

Well i got to get out yesterday to run my Godzilla R1 for the first time. Heated it up with a comp heat, primed the lines, and wouldnt ya know it....BOOM :D fired up first hit
Have got 500ml through it now and this thing wants to go, runs so nice and does not feel like a normal break in, NAA have done a great job in building this engine  .....cant wait to get it up and racing next club day :sneaky:

Hey Stalkie

Thats the Piston Matching service we do. This greatly reduces the time and frustration of engine run in. Its designed to be at a race tune within a litre which is a bit over a quart of fuel.

We have invested in some specialised equipment Mark designed and had his brother make it up on a lathe. The specs are based on blueprinted schematics of the piston and sleeve tolerances. The procedure brings these components right into the sweet spot where the piston is making maximum comp seal with minimal mechanical resistance.

The specs he altered are a culmination of his working with these engines over many years. What we have found is the engines that have gone through this particular process end up making more power and better longevity.

Each sleeve from the factory has minute chromium thickness variants which means 1 in ten engine will have a perfect fit. This is common with all manufacturers by the way. The matching service eliminates this problem and brings them into a perfect working match.

There is an excess material pinch for you to condition the engine to your running style. Each engine and set up will bed in differently depending on the way the engine is driven. Particular heat range variants will determine the engines material pinch because the tolerances very much depend on the heat the engine is run at.

There are other people that offer this service too. Id say Ray A Racing would have to be the best at this by far ! I have had prs sets come back from them better than new !

The technology behind our process is unique because we have employed a different approach to the matching process.. its only slightly different but its proven to be a very significant change in the process.

Piston matching is done usually by engine tuners such as Mario Rossi , Gultiero ( rip ) & Alberto Picco , Massimo Fantini just to name a few and our process was inspired by these great engine tuners. The actual process of doing this greatly improved the engines performance.

One thing we picked up on most Italian matched engines is speratic flame out. we were curious about this phenomena and we realised it was a "blow by" problem caused by heat spikes with incorrectly tuned engines. This is common with incorrectly run in engines in combination with in correct tuning procedure.

This is something very common in the industry and something we are comitted to educating our engine customers against.

Anyway , Stalkie let me know when you get to the 5 L mark so Mr Mod Boy can put in your R1 Rod as promised.

Cheers

Well i can say all that work you guys put in pays off
I run at our club day on sunday and was lucky enough to take out the A main final :D as of yet to touch the tune from the start but now just on 1.5 ltrs it feels like its time to tweak the bottom just a little. Hope to get some more running in this next week and then its off to Maitland for King of the Valley on Feb 3rd...will try for some vid on the day...:tire::tire::tire:
