Default air filter: wash, oil, and re-use or trash?

Do you guys wash your filter and oil and reuse them? I know they are cheap but since I have had my buggy I have been washing my filters and oiling them up with some Ofna filter oil. Seems to be working good, just wanting to see what you guys do, and the technique you use for washing and oiling?

I put mine in a zip-loc baggie

Also, I bought my buggy used and it came with this Outerwears pre-filter. Are these a pretty good thing to use? It seems to breathe good tho. I have used it as well since I bought my buggy.

Even though they are cheap I ALWAYS wash and reuse. I think the price would add up after a while. I wash them in dish soap and hot water and dry them VERY well, then I oil only the inner portion. I also have 4 extras, and I have them all oiled and ready in a bag, then I change it every hour of running or just before my mains. A few guys at the club I race at use the filter covers.

i wash dry and reuse until they don't seat well or just get worn out. It's just to hard for me to replace everything like i should. Something has to give. I have about 10 at any one time and rotate them.

K&N oil is probably for a cotton filter and lets in dust. Motorcycle/ATV filter oil is made for foam and the way to go. Belray sells it by the quart and a quart will last a long time. There are a couple brands that come in an aerosol can. That would be more convienant.

I just toss them. Losi filters are too cheap to make it worth my while cleaning them. It is just too much of a pain, and you will never really get all of the dirt and grime out. Almost, but not all of it.

Try the Kalguard products. They're excellent.

I toss them, but that's mostly because I'm lazy. I'll use the same filter for the qualifiers and a new one for the main. For practicing, I'll change every hour or so - depending on how dusty the track is.

I wash in hot water with about a cup full of degreaser and then let them dry in the sun for a day or so and then spray with castrol motorbike air filter oil which is about $5 from supercheap auto. I only oil the inner filter, the outer & filter bag just gets a wash. I also have 4 extra inner filters an 6 outers, and I have them oiled and ready to go in a snap lock bag.

i run the losi filters... and oil both the inside and outside!

the outers get dirty pretty fast i normaly change the outer out before the main because nothing has gotton through to the inner foam.

i can run 2-3 race weekends on the same inner filter..

i also run the rcpro losi filter and filter oil set! good buy!
