Ahh...but there are two different versions. Standard engines 5% lighter than the old ones, Pro engines 10% lighter

Had a bad accident with my brand new b6. Broke piston during disassembly. Feel really stupid and pissed off. Was rushing it qnd had the piston all the way down when trying to take off the back plate. Does anyone know if I can get just a piston without a sleeve and where I can get one. Just checked amain and piston sleeve combo is on backorder.

i've heard of people doing this but never can picture it happening. putting the backplate on maybe but how can you pull on the backplate hard enough to break the piston skirt? they are delicate and all but jeez. i cracked a skirt once (different motor) right at the line where it changes color, cleaned it up a bit with the dremel and the motor ran fine, a little hotter, about 20f or so. but it ran pretty good. i bealive the nvision, sirio and orion psr may also fit if in a rush.

jwood WTF ar you doing taking a brand new engine apart? this is not the 90's where you MUST seal up your engines I have never had any issues with my werks leaking anywhere...

but anywho, how far up did the piston break? IF it does not go past the exhaust port then just clean it up "smooth" it out and you should be fine, there is no such thing as buying just a piston they all come in sets
