A little off topic I guess, but I just ordered a R5R combo w/2104 pipe and the 34mm quattro clutch. I was wondering do reds engines come with a glow plug? Amain and other sites seem to be out of the t5c plug. I plan to order spare plugs once Amain comes back in stock, but didn't want to overpay if the engine comes with a plug.

Is there anything recommended to get with the engine? I am trying to find a head heater in stock also... I have mostly ran electric the past 2 years but am trying to get back into nitro. My old os engine isn't working out so I ordered the reds combo after reading and watching some youtube videos about them. I am really excited to try the reds engine, but am looking for any extra advice!

I can't speak exactly for the R5R but the WR7 combo comes with a glow plug and every engine I've ever bought came with a plug.

Default Needle Settings WR7

Wanted to share my needle settings. These settings are after ~10 tanks so I'm sure the bottom and the top will lean out a little further:

Idle: 0.56mm in
Bottom: 0.28mm in
Top: 0.54mm in

Shadaloo,
Yes, the R5R will come with a glow plug. It may be a #4 which is a little bit hotter plug for break in. However, you can race with the #4 plug if you are not able to get a 5 in time. It looks like you run Tekno cars, based on your signature. You will need to run a tekno clutch bell with the tekno clutch bell retaining washer, or REDS offers a Tekno Durabell that will last nearly forever. I am assuming you have the basic nitro necessities covered, like the starter box, glow igniter, fuel and fuel bottle, etc. Yes, an engine heater of some kind is critical to proper starting of the engine and will extend the life of the engine by minimizing the metal-on-metal friction of a cold piston being forced into a cold sleeve. Even a heat gun will do. Best of luck! You will be pleased!

Grab a few #5 plugs. I am partial to NitroPro Fuel, but Byrons is a very reputable brand.

I'd be interested to hear if the Lunga is more buggy or truggy oriented

It is intended for truggy. Dyno testing shows that it is the most powerful REDS engine available. Ever.

I would like to know how true those numbers are from the dyno. 3.5hp would be as much power or more than the big blocks.

In my opinion the Corsa Lunga has it over the Spec3

According to TNS's dyno, a stock R5R makes over 3hp, and his modified one 3.3. According to same dyno, big blocks make from 3.3 to near on 4hp stock.
I believe the Reds dyno numbers...
