Anyone know if Novarossi is coming out with anything new in the nova keep off 4 port line. Its almost the time for a new motor and dont want to buy the old version if there is a new one coming out.

curious , what do you see that there could be an improvement on?

the novarossi and novarossi made engines are great , very refined

some engines may have mo0re "BLING" but that dont mean jack squat IMHO

Would filling the crank on the keep off 4 help with mileage ? Or is there some magic going on in there and that's why its not filled?

seen the new "ver-tus" 4 port run today, looks awesome with alot of power...seen the stop watch with 11 minutes on it and there was still 1/4 tank of fuel left:nod:

anybody know what color carburetor washer to use for best performance with the virtus? it has a black one on there now, but also offers red, white, blue and orange.

That made me laugh. Bling don't mean jack squat. Perfect Monty.

21-4 in the buggy for sure. Best all around pipe/header combo for your Mugen is the 9901/021. (same pipe and header on the Truggy as well)

Anyone try Boca ceramic bearings in the Keep Off or Virtus Engines? I thought Nova had a patent on the rear conical bearing? The Nova's are over $100. Rather run the Boca if they have that weird cone in the race. Thanks

Not sure if Boca has made this bearing yet, but I do know that there is a TKO bearing that is a direct replacement and works great.

The replacement bearing mentioned above from TKO only fits the Keep Off 21-4 engine. It does not fit the Keep Off 21-7 or Virtus engines. From my knowledge, you can only obtain the rear bearing on these engines directly from Novarossi (NOV16006)

I have one NIB which I'm looking to sell...PM me if interested.

28-7T

I just got a brand new Mugen MBX6-TR and its gonna be my first nitro truck. I'm looking at getting the NovaRossi 28-7T engine for it but I don't know if that will be my best option. Has anybody had success with the 28-7T? Would the .25 or .21 options be better for the truggy. Most of the tracks I run on are all technical with lots of stop and go and minimum straightaways.

Small technical tracks are one of my favorites. It makes it a drivers track and not about horse power or money track.

I would look at engines with lots of torque and low end controllability. A .28 or the Roma .25 are great with power but can be a little too much even for trucks now a days. I would look at a good .21

I recently got a .21 P5XLT Modded and couldn't be happier. Plenty of power, smooth and controllable. Yes its modded but for RPM and fuel mileage more so than anything.

Your budget should help determine weather you are going the P5 route or the Virtus route. Its about a $250 swing between the two.

Being its your first nitro, I would not spend bookoo dollars until you get the feel and knowledge of the mills. Hell, you may not like it and just dumped a bunch of money in it.

The P5's can be had for about $190. I would look at getting a mod company to do the break-in for you as that is the most important part of any engines life ( the first 500-800 cc's of fuel anyway).

And lets not forget a good pipe to match your mill, track and driving style. Pipes can bring a motor to life or pound the nails into the coffin!

Good luck.

Honestly I think i'm gonna go with the Roma .25. I like the .28 but i'm not so sure about the fuel efficiency. If i go with the Roma .25 what is the best pipe and manifold for it. Like i said on a lot of the tracks I race on there is a lot of stop and go with a few straights and 1-2 long straights. I really appreciate the help and advice.

Ggthedouble 12-08-2014 06:52 PM

Is there a huge difference in the fuel economy between the .21 .25?
