Curious as to why you chose the Drag mod for a vehicle meant for racing. Fuel consumption should be a concern, right?

If i can make 6-7 minutes, i'll be more than happy. The pit stop is an exellent occasion for me to take a little beer:lol:

And the competition we did is not real sanctioned race, it's funny friendly race:p

And i'll not only race with my truggy , i'll bash with it sometimes during summer, on the backyard!!!!!!!!

Well boys, I got to fire up the JX21 today.
I heated her up and she popped to life as
soon as the flywheel hit the starterbox wheel.
A couple light taps of the throddle and she sat
there purring at idle. I thought something was
the matter because it was so quiet. I'm used
to the loud crackling 086 and other pipes that
I usually run. The 2060 sure will make the
neighbors happy. Anyway, I ran it easy for
three tanks and started opening it up more
on the last two tanks that I ran. It has smooth,
predictable power and all the low end balls you need
when you want it. I'm going to run alot more fuel through
it before I see how the top end is.
I got my buddy coming over in the morning, he has a
Loosy truggie with a Toro Nero on it. I have a few engines
that have already proved his Toro has no balls and I know
that this engine is going to hurt his feelings too.
I'll keep you guys updated. So far, I LIKE IT!!! He! He! He!.....

The ninja JX is an excellent motor. Add the AB mods to it, and you will have something that the others don't have.

Rage, you will soon find out what I mean !!!

I live in Colorado, and can say that this was the motor of choice for well over a dozen local racers. What I noticed thoughout the year is.......... A lot of racers pushed this motor hard in various ways. By the end of the season, the motor had changed. Sure it still had power, but it lost a bit. Another common issue was people were having random flame outs.

But........

While I was running the AB modded JX, I never really found myself needing to push this motor to get what I needed out of it. Actually, I don't temp the motors often, but I was only above 230 once, and usually had temps around or near 215. With this being said, I am still more than happy with my motor and feel that it is still nearly just as strong today as it was when I first got it. Currently it has OVER 6 GALLONS !!!! Now I am not saying you will get less or more life out of your motor. But take care of it, and it will take care of you.

It really seems that Adam at AB mods did his homework on this motor for a result that will please most and make us come back for more

Denver area. Not sure if we ever met. I ran truggy all year long. I was at just about every scheduled race this year. Rat, CFT, Burlington.

The name is Bob

WingWrecker 10-04-2009 08:54 AM

I just got my first buggy about 5 weeks ago and have only practiced at the Littleton RC Hobbies track so far.

Is the track at Rat open to the public when theres no racing?

Unsober1 10-04-2009 09:13 AM

The "race" tracks around town are only open during the race days. Rat did run yesterday, last of season I think.

The littleton track is really the only one open to the public when ever, but that is why it is in the conditon that it is in.
But Hops was talking about a track change to happen before the white stuff comes in

Colt4g63 10-06-2009 10:09 AM

Well hopefully you all can meet up and do some running or racing together. Bob you'll have to show him how the AB engines run and he might just want to get one for himself. :)

Oh I already do... :tire:

Saving the dough is only hold up. I will be in touch soon.

For now, my recently installed turbo head is making me smile.

Unsober. If you ever plan to hit littleton, do let me know.

NZ_Basher 10-06-2009 08:19 PM

Well I have run my AB Mods JX21 in and I'll be leaning a bit more to get the top end livened up a bit more this weekend. The smoothness is awesome and it seems to idle nice, power is excellent considering I haven't tuned for performance yet. I think I'm going to like this engine a LOT
Big race this weekend, so it'll be the real acid test for the engine

man those 2060 pipes are quiet!

RJNicholson 10-06-2009 11:29 PM

Adam,

I have a modded Picco P7R Evo2 that blew up on me awhile back. I think I was running it was to hot and blew out the rear bearing.

Can I send it to you to look at and see if it is able to be salvaged? The crank and case that is. I think it would need a new P/S/R along with bearings.

If you still have any Picco stuff would you be able to make it an ABModded beast again once you look at it?

Shoot me a PM if you need to, or info of where I could send it.

merdith6 10-06-2009 11:57 PM

Hello Mod Man

I have a Max power 3 port .21 buggy racer engine that is just broken in at just under a gallon. It could use more bottom to top and it's a little finiky to tune. It's similar to my nova bf but still slower maybe a little tight. I think it would be a good mod motor. Any feedback would be nice. I saw your website and It seems you do the best work IMO..and others....

Colt4g63 10-07-2009 12:53 AM

RJNicholson, PM sent about the Picco. :)

Merdith6, get with me I'm sure I can wake that engine up for you!

Colt4g63 10-13-2009 10:30 AM

All OS engines still on sale.

I have recieve a gift from Adam today:p
Look at this beautiful beast!, thank you Adam, can't wait to put it in my X2 CRT.
I've open the engine this after noon, and the cut was so well made that it look like if all was "factory make" on the crank and sleeve.

The threebond sealing job's done by me, not by Adam:lol:

I too think it is always a good practice to seal up the motor. Mine looks messy to, but effective. I use Lucky 7 so the black is less visible.

But hey, It looks very nice crusin' on the track !!!

Have fun with the new motor !

No:( I was at the job last week-end and the weather here was realy bad.....SNOW on saturday morning:cry::cry::cry:

And my 086 pipe is not here yet. The only pipe i have for now is an RB 9863, don't know if it's the proper ppipe for this engine.
But for break-in , maybe this pipe'll do the job:weird:

Anyways, i'll try to start it next week-end if the weather is not to bad:flaming:

German Muscle 10-28-2009 07:01 PM

i love me some vspec.

Colt4g63 11-02-2009 05:38 PM

You are not alone on that. The JX.21 and OS Speed are also GREAT engines from OS as well.

problemchild 11-03-2009 12:56 PM

Well, my little ABMods OS .18 is knocking on the door of 90 mph. I suspect that with a slipperier body, some shim and tuning work and a longer run up it'll get there at the Fontana speed runs on 11/14&15.

Can you believe it? 90 mph from a small block engine in a stock chassis with a stock body?

German Muscle 11-03-2009 04:57 PM

nice work gary. \:tire:______:tire:\

Colt4g63 11-09-2009 09:19 AM

You all should see Garys stream liner for the next ISC event.... Words don't do it justice!

Colt4g63 11-16-2009 10:35 AM

Here some pics of Garys AB Mods powered twin engine stream-liner!

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...inerISCcar.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...linerISC-1.jpg

I should have some results of this unit in before too long. The event in Fontana was this weekend and when i talked to Gary Saturday he was leading the pack in small block class by a pretty large margin with a AB Mods OS 18TZ powered TC3! :D I cant wait to hear about how the stream-liner twin engine car pictured above did. :)
