I'll be giving the Novarossi 2630 another try this coming weekend. It'll be at a track similar in size as the GLC.

Hey Robert, would you ever give a 21T second gear pinion a try for the Toledo track?

Dave

the runtime i'm getting is on a huge track too but 1 of the guys there uses your type of pipe and told me that the sti uses more fuel with the new novarossi pipe

Common "problem" with engines in general....

lean out the bottom end, and lower the idle rpm.....

You can try this on the startbox.
When engine goes back from full rpm, listen to it.
If it idles high and after a few seconds goes down in rpm, the bottom end is to rich.
If it idles low, and after a few seconds the rpm goes up, the bottom end is to lean.....

Dave

what % nitro did you use?
-try backing off the clutch a bit so the engine doesnt rev up as much before it engages.
-use a bit longer fuel line

all of these only give you a few more seconds of runtime but it all adds up!

Just running in my STI! Man thats a long pipe! (the sirio one!)

Cheers

you would think but this is a sirio.

I don't know, that seems to have been the common perspective that I can't really agree. Lately the motors we have tuned when it comes in reving bad out of hell, it isn't the bottom too rich, it's actually too lean. Running WAY hot. When we richen the bottom, the temp becomes a lot more controllable.

Dom

Slo-MTX4 08-14-2006 03:22 PM

Yeah i tend to agree with Dom on the bottom being to lean as opposed to too rich. I am hoping that it was just the o'ring that the carb seals into crank case with. For some extra saftey i have put a small amount of ultra blus sealant around the flange. Has anyone else had this problem?

No I wouldnt....21 is too small..I wouldnt go smaller than 23 pinion 55 spur maybe 56 .....also guys the spurs you guys are listing above seem to be incorrect. .......1st gear pinions comes in 15,16,17, 2nd pinions 20,21,22,23
1st spur 59,60,61 2nd spur 55,56 these are the only gears im aware of currently shown on the rollout chart for the rrr... remeber guys refer to your rollout chart accordindly to get the correct amount of gear your looking for when cutting your tires to the desired split  :)

You should always verify for yourself......try a bunch of different pipes and see what works best for you....remeber there are alot of factors that make the car run certain way and the pipe is only one of them ;) ;)

yes i agree, i've tried both the sirio pipe and the nova pipe back to back and the novarossi pipe seems to pull harder through the range but i broke the front belt on the car before i could do a runtime comparison :(
then it was time to fix the car and change the motor so i could give it to KICKASS RACING for modding ;)
