Have you tried changing out your fueltank? Could me a hairline crack in fuelpickup or the interal line if you have a clunk.

Change rear bearing and see if that solves it if not.
replace fuel line, fuel tank. Maybe lid isnít tight.
Hows the compression on it? If not much compression engine might not hold a idle. Take the needles out of the carb maybe you have some blockage in carb. Flush carb out. Take engine apart check all the seals gaskets shims replace if needed. Maybe you have air leak. Check pipe gaskets and springs.
How skilled are you at tuning? Maybe have a local that knows os take a look if your not the best tuner.

Default Trolling for some opinions

Hiya folks,

I have access to some nib os .19 speeds for a decent price. I'm wondering if these engines are still competitive in this age of mega power longnstrokes, or should I just ignore them and go for something current?

Thank you for any opinions

The OS .19 Speed did really well, but given now the low cost of the current motors, I would save your money and get a .21 Speed instead. Given that your biggest headache is going to be finding PSR Sets! I used to get mine from Tower Hobbies, and now they are out.

Plus with a current .21 spares will be more plentiful.

Replace the rear bearing before you go any farther. It will make a big difference on how it tunes and holds an idle...I used J&T ceramics in my drake motor and what a difference. I can fire it and walk away and it’s still at a low idle

Thanks for all the help. Changed rear bearing and its running great

New case, new Carb, Love all the small details on the new motor!! Funny they went with a LP vertical finned "old school" Cooling Head.

tried it on the original XZB, and didnít like it. Saw a photo many years ago with it on tessmanís truck though, but to be honest itís hard to tell what engine he was running, it could of been the 2101, which he runs in truck as well.

i saw a side view so couldnít tell what engine.

I ran the Spec II in my MBX7TR with the 2090SC (OSM72106192) pipe. No issues with lack of power and had good fuel mileage too.
