Outerwears Filter Covers

Do you guys think that they are worth it? Do they help much for keeping dirt out?

I use one for my 8T. It helps a ton:nod:

I think it is important to run one if the place you run has extremely fine dirt or very fine sand.

Where we run, even with a double filter its too dirty after one run, and when you pull the inner filter off, you can see dirt on the inside of the filter.

With the outerwears, I can go an entire race day, and the inner filter is lightly dirty with ZERO dirt on the inside of the filter.

IMO, worth the 15ish bucks to save a 400 dollar motor.

Who makes them for the small filters, i have seen them on the Baha 5b

I run them and love them.
A-Main has them in different sizes and colors. Defintley worth the price.

I use vet wrap, you can get it at feedstores for like $2 a roll. Works great and a roll lasts forever. I only use it if it's real dusty but it works so good.

Filter Covers

I found something that you guys might want to see regarding dry layer filters.... This will save you money in the long run...!

The best filter cover system I found, is the skin tight ones you can get on ebay. They are cheaper they work better and they last longer. The people who make them have the design dialed, and its so simple! They are only like $6.99 vs outerwear's at $13.99+... and they work better! I've tried both! I saw recently they added 2-packs for only $11.99!! The first one I bought 6 months ago, is still working perfect and has paid itself off ten times over. Outwears are good but these are just better and not many people know about them.

They have them for Mugen, RC8, Koyosho, RB, Losi and more styles. :)

Here is the link I found them on:

i clean my outerwears with just soap and water....but after the last couple weeks of it letting in the Finest of Fine dirt...im gonna try the Ebay one's.....cheep and effective according to every one that has tried em.

BAUSTIN 07-23-2008 12:02 PM

i just use soap and water and mine has held up well.......a few guys have used solvants and it eats up the elastic string, then thy have to zip tie it on the filter.....which works ok......

smitty2802 07-23-2008 12:06 PM

i seen jerry had his zip tied on and kinda liked that i dea... but i also REALLY liek the ebay ones... so i'll be using those from now on as long as they hold up good
