but i was hoping someone could fill me in on which restrictors fit it other than the included ones. i read that people have been using 6mm but i know OD doesn't make or include a 6mm. so how can i get them? :confused:

thanks :D:nod::D

The SS.21 comes with a 7 and 8mm. The Novarossi restrictors fit best, but you should really try it with the 7 first. The 6mm will make for a softer hit, but it does so by reducing the overall power of the engine. The 7mm should be the main choice for this motor. It gives an excellent blend of run time and power.

The only time you'd want to use the 6mm is if the track was really loose, and you were having significant wheel spin issues. You could put on the smaller restrictor to reduce wheelspin, but you're doing so by choking down the motor, and limiting the power it can make.

Use the 97t and buy a couple of them. First thing is check your fuel lines for leaks then change the plug. Mine would not stay running pulled the plug and the last part of the wire was white. Changed it out and ran fine.

thanks stubbs! :D the only reason i asked was the track i run on can be very very loose and blown out. for days like those less power would definitly help for lap consistancy. :spidey:

is this the one you use or are there others that would work? and are all carbs the same size without a restrictor?

No, they can differ... some are compatible while others are not. Like someone said before, the OS and Novarossi style restrictors will work just fine with the SS.21.

thanks for the info :D i think ill look into getting a 6mm if the 7mm proves to b too much power on those loose days :tire::tire::tire::tire:

Try dialing in a good bit of expo on your throttle first. I found this to be the most helpful when the track is loose. You can still get full power when needed, but the additional expo will help you modulate your finger better on the lower part of the travel.

Thank you for posting. This is probably one of the most important posts on rctech. People are always trying to get the fastest servo on the planet, not realizing that "most" racers will need to dial down their expo to control their vehicle. That goes for steering as well. Good info.

preTty sure this is the greatest motor for your money of all time. 220* after a 30 minute main. 10:20 average between pits. Doing things that $500 OS Speed motors can't do

just need that O pipe!!

i agree with you as speed is only useful when you can control it! it can be an edge though on tight high traction tracks such as the indoor track i run on but as for our outdoor it doesn't make a huge difference between fast and slow.

That pipe is pretty sexy. Gunna have to get one!

Just got a PM from Mr. Odonnell, he is fixing my carb and getting it back to me. Yet another reason why i will be running Odonnell from now on.

Had a buddy who has been running Speed's for the last 3 years tell me today he is selling em all off and getting Odonnell's after seeing mine run.
