PROTEK RC ANNOUNCES NEW CR21 3-PORT .21 OFF-ROAD ENGINE
Features same DNA as Successful ProTek Samurai Line but Suggested MSRP Under $300 ProTek RC is announcing its new CR21 3-port .21 off-road engine with the same DNA as its highly successful Samurai engine line, but with a suggested retail price of less than $300. The budget-friendly ProTek CR21 is now available at AMainHobbies.com or through your local track store or hobby shop. The CR21 features a newly designed crankshaft to improve engine response and a lightweight piston that further assists with a crisp engine response on throttle input. The combustion chamber design optimizes low to medium RPM ranges, perfect for newer racers, while still offering high performance output at high speeds for more experienced drivers. And it is easy to tune and stabilize with a 2-needle carburetor with 6mm and 7mm inserts available. An “EBIS” version of the ProTek RC CR21 is also available at amainhobbies.com, featuring the engine break-in services of RC racing and industry legend Adam Drake. Well, probably just this one:
O.S. 21XR-B ver.III 1CY00 - WORLD CHAMPION PRODUCTS But in a more fancy jacket..... |
They're the same motor. The Protek is dressed up a little with the black coating. Can't beat the price on the Protek.
|
The Ielasi Dusty R 22’ is based of the same engine also. I wonder if Protek had any modifications done to it.

|
FPO2 all day if I'm on a budget.

I think that protek cr21 is just a rebrand of this one it looks like. edit didn’t see roefl already said this. the one ielasi is based on this engine to but has dlc and a little bit of modding. |
Id be interested if it was the whole engine and pipe combo for 300.
For the price you pay once you add a pipe and manifold you’re more than the Flashpoint FP02 combo, which is based off OS as well. |
Protek CR21 broken in by Drake arrived yesterday, headed out to The Dirt in Perris. Followed the instructions on how to break in and was able to put some tanks through it. Used the 6mm venturi and ran it rich all night, still had plenty of power. Idles well. Very impressed.
Used the Flashpoint header and pipe. |
