Savage X 4.6 V2 correct glow plug?
 

Ok Savage fans, what’s the deal?

Several people have said the 4.6 is a long reach engine, but mine came with the R5 plug which is standard/short reach. For comparison, here is an LC3 long reach, a #8 short reach, and the stock R5 —

So is the F4.6 really long reach and the truck comes with the wrong glow plug? My Trophy 3.5 buggy also came with the same R5 glow plug.

R5 is standard cold high nitro 20% +. Os #8 is medium standard low nitro. 0-20% nitro
R5 is what u should use.

Thanks was really more concerned about plug length, not so much the cold/hot. Weird that older HPIs used long plug and the newer one comes short.

Regarding the length, if you are not sure then take off the head and head button and look inside how well the glowplug is in line with the burning chamber.
