I noticed the engines now have different cooling heads compared to their initial release. Does anyone know if anything else was changed to the motors?

I will shortly be following the lead here. Can't wait to run these motors too! Novarossi motor and HB truggy is where I started with nitro. Going back home I guess.

I don't know if it does, but it should be able to replace it.. when I look at a spare block it does not have it in there...

Itís been awhile since I have been on so Iíll give a quick little update . I still havenít fired up my Muran T6r justtt yet , we went pretty wild with it lol, on Black Friday I picked up another T6r and decided to break this one in so I know how it feels stock . Well itís a great engine so far . I really like the carb and seems very forgiving and is a long needle , as far as the engine goes she rips no joke . Test bed has been a Mbx6t - currently has a 16 bell on her( much better than 15T) and Alpha 4 shoe -1 shoe has the lightest spring and the other 3 are the highest and set to ďHĒ . It feels very much like a Roma in stock form.. but I think the Roma has a tick more hit but the T6r seems to have a tick more legs. This is with the stock shin set and plug . I have ran the 41032/2052 which was nice , 2013 .. great response but runs out of breath too soon, 41031/9886 awesome pipe set for this engine really smooth too , Ielasi v3 gt manifold/ 2113 this is a killer setup btw drinks fuel but tears ass and currently she has a 41032medium / 2148 and I really like this one .. lots of feel and still has legs . I did add a .1 shim under the sleeve and removed it from under the button so still factory squish . I need to put another 2000ml though her as sheís still a bit tight then Iíll slap on the Modified one and Iíll share that data as my analyzer has been in another rig . All in all the T6r is legit and I thank god they made a Roma replacement.. She has great revs for a big bore with the right pipe. All testing has been done with badlands on a golf corse (my back yard lol) so maximum traction .
outcast32 and TNneedsrctracks like this.

Default Several questions

Hey guys,

I just picked up a pair of losi 8 x elites with nova b5s with reds exhausts installed. One had a gallon ran through it the other had one tank ran through it. The guy shimmed them and was running 30%.

1. should I keep running 30% or drop back down to 20? The manual recommends not going over 25.

2. what are the factory carb settings? I would like to have a baseline when I go to Tune these myself.

3. it came with #5 glow plugs, is that what I should use?

If the engines were tuned for 30%, then either stick with 30%, or pick a new fuel and start fresh. I run my b5r on 25%. Not sure what 20% fuel you want to use but most will be geared towards rtr engines with a high oil %. Nova b5 will not like a high oil percentage.

their is nothing wrong with running 30%, the manual recommends 25% for how the engine is shimmed from factory. #5 glow plug is whatís recommended from the factory.

factory carb settings are for break in and will be way too rich. I donít have specifics, but the needles should be about flush with their housing from factory.

if it was my engine. Iíd stick with 30% and go from there and see how it runs. Unless 30% is not available to you.

Update :

I have my stock T6r broken in right about a gallon of fuel through her , I really like this long needle carb btw . The T6r is really good on fuel vs the Roma in race trim with a 41001/9901 and even the 2058 . Those are the 2 pipesets I have used that people would typically hit the track with . I think the T6r is a really really sweet engine in stock form . Now for the fun stuff . Adding .10 under the sleeve and removing .10 under the button and adding a Gt manifold and 9886 , Max Gt L 2164 , Ielasi gtr 2185 really wake this thing up . Again I think it has the legs on a Roma that has similar setup , Roma a touch more initial hit and I mean a touch . This is with a Roma w same exhausts and a .60 shim stack , I donít have liner shims to fit sadly .
Now I have a Modded one from Muran w the G5r crank and itís has 600ml through her now and itís eye opening fast so far .. I have yet to let her sing but on a golf course in a buggy w 16/46 gearing on brand new badlands it leaves trenches w all 4 tires with sub 50% throttle input. As I get more fuel through it I will sure more with what I find and Iíll put my analyzer on it and share the data .
cheers fellas

New B3R EVO is out.... Factory drivers like Wiggins and Cavalleri have been racing with it. New head, new crankcase, new timing, and improved crankshaft. Guys running them are saying ease of tune and reliability improved a lot. More torque than the old one. I dunno about you but my B3R has plenty of torque... I can do 10 minutes too.

Sweet! I havenít squeezed the trigger on the B3 but I Hope they releaseĒEvoĒ versions of all their engines . You have to give Nova credit for trying to continue their product offerings. Now I do have an email from them from a year ago saying they will be releasing a 28 Ö racers donít care about 28s but it shows they are devoted to supply the market with all demands and I like that .
