Exclamation CRC FAST TRACK II (BLACK CARPET) - Coming Soon!!!

We are very Excited to announce that N.O.R.A. will be purchasing CRC Fast Track II Carpet (AKA... Black carpet) for the upcoming 2018-19 Carpet Indoor Season. If all goes well we are hoping to have it laid down for the Season opener on October 6th. Should make for an exciting year of Carpet Oval and OnRoad racing. There are several upgrades the club would like to make to the F building facility and the track such as paint, new track features, and possibly even sub-floor, or CRC click track down the road. We are exploring all options at this time to put on one of the best seasons of indoor racing we have had ever. If you are a sponsor or a racer and would like to donate to help us upgrade our program... we will be looking at creative ways to help accelerate the timeline on upgrading our program to go along with the new carpet. Donations are not required, they are however greatly appreciated if you are able to help. Please contact a NORA board member or Indoor Race Directors: Jim Glasgow or Lou Debenny... if you wish to learn more or would like to help out.

We are also excited to announce that our West Coast Carpet Oval Nationals - NW Championship event will be held on January 11th & 12th which will be an excellent warm up for Snowbirds. Also... NORA OnRoad will also be hosting the 2019 ROAR Region 11 Carpet OnRoad Championship Event February 16th & 17th.

Lot's of reason for being excited this year and it all kicks off October 6th at the Skagit County Fairgrounds!!!

JUST A HEADS UP... NEW CARPET OVAL AND OnROAD FLYERS will be made available by the end of the week (8/26).

There were a few changes to the Friday night Oval Program... with the introduction of 21.5 SK Light and Legends as points series classes.

There was only one change to the Saturday OnRoad Program and that is the addition of the 21.5 Stock Touring class to the OnRoad Series.
All 2017-18 classes are still offered this year with the same rule package as last season.

Our Scale Spec Class at NORA will still observe the ROAR approved spec motor list for 25.5T motors until further notice. If you plan on also running Scale Spec in Seattle... Seattle RC has a great buy on the Maclan Premium 25.5T motor for $60. See Todd Mason to take advantage of this deal. These are excellent motors and a excellent bargain at that price.

This is some very exciting news! Looking forward to running on the new carpet!

FYI: I ran 21.5 at NORA last year to get ready for other races, and it was a pretty good fit.

See you at the track!

Ahh yes. That's Great Great News Jimmy! We have needed a local track in the Northwest with Black Carpet for some time now to keep up with the jones' around the Country. Finally to be on the same playing field as every track out there this is huge. I commend your efforts Jimmy and can't thank you enough for being such a professional.
This indoor season will be the best yet. With the Carpet On-Road Regionals making a much much needed return to Region 11 and the addition of a Permanent Black Track it'll be Standind Room only.
I look forward to spending alot more time with you guys this year. I'm a bit ashamed not to have raced more up at Nora the last few years supporting your great program so I apologize for that. Again job well done to Jimmy and all the guys who put in work to make Nora great! Peel you soon

Jim, for on road there is a mod class. Is there a minimum wind or an open motor class? Thanks!

We will run Mod 1/12 or Mod Touring if we have a few drivers who want to run it. Usually only a few people at different times of the season want to do it though and it is a low car count class. It could change though. I see Stock 1/12 being a big class this year on our new carpet and subfloor though.

Gonna be an awesome year for Indoor Carpet at NORA!

Post Work Parties beginning the week of 9/24 thru 10/05

Just a heads up... We will begin work parties as early as 9/24 thru 10/05. We have a ton of things to do to set up our building at the Skagit County Fairgrounds for indoor racing. We will be doing some painting of the North Wall, painting the driver's stand, Installing an 80ft x 48ft subfloor and laying down our new CRC Black Carpet. There will be no shortage of work.

If you are interested in helping with work parties please contact Jim Glasgow @ 425-359-2180 or email at [email protected]

This year is going to be one to remember.

We will begin building subfloor and work parties for building and laying carpet will begin Thursday, Friday, Sat/Sun at 10am. Call Jim Glasgow at 425-359-2180 if you are available this weekend.
