Positive attitudes wanted.
I'm tired of listening to all the BS. So I have to say it. Get over it. This crap: my ego is bigger than your ego, this track is better, that track sucks, he said she said, etc. This does not promote the hobby, it devides it. I would like to see new people, new racers and the racing scene grow in region 11. I don't care if you race onroad, offroad, gas, electric. RC is RC. So how about everyone start fresh, say you're sorry or what ever you need to do. Here I'll start: If I have offended anyone on or off the track I apologize, catch up with me at the track and we'll talk about it. If you're a sponsored driver and you're fast, and you represent any company, that is even more of a reason to show respect to other racers and some integrity. This is not directed at anyone in specific, but if you feel like it is, maybe that's a sign. Okay, go ahead and tell me I'm wrong. Doug.

No Doug, you are not wrong. But there is one problem - the extreme competition. Have you ever hung out with a bunch of racers before (non-rc, say local stock car racers). They get along even worse than the folks here!
Its too hard not to get extra competetive after you have spent thousands of dollars on your rigs, and hundreds of hours at the track, all so that you can beat the next guy around the track.
Over the last couple of years, I have yet to see one fist fight at an rc race. I've seen several at the stock car races. On the whole, rc racers are the best bunch of people you will ever meet. And almost all of us are on our best behavior at the track - and I think that contributes to the flame wars on these forums. There are things said here that I would guess I will never hear on the track. So, people who read these forums, and are thinking of getting into racing, you will find 99% of the people at the track to be extremely helpful, and polite. Then, when you have been into it for a year or so, spent a grand on your racer and hours at the track, and someone dis's your rig, you might type something that you would never say too!

I agree. I would like to everyone conduct them selves as well on the forums as they do at the races. I also agree that the r/c family is made up of some of the nicest people I have met. I have made so many lifetime friends in the twenty plus years I have been in r/c.
At the same time, remember that because all posters don't use their name, many of us don't know their history and friends. They make off-color statements that we don't know the whole story, so to us it may sound rude. Lets all think before we type, as we should do before we speek.
Still loving r/c after 20 plus years......Mike
