NORA 2016-17 Carpet On-Road

I have a busy work day ahead of me so I will chime in more about this when I have time today. A few things that I want to make clear. This is an F1 race day and LeMan's is a bonus class for fun and was not intended to be heavily spec'd out. F1 racing is the driver and purpose behind the event and NORA is behind promoting F1 racing. Marco has done a good job of promoting this event as he is enthusiastic about this class and I appreciate his efforts. While he has promoted for us not everything has been communicated to me how I would like to have received it and there are a few things I need to check into this morning and I want to read through your posts more carefully. I am am the director and a club officer at NORA and this is an event where we are learning about these cars and trying to build interest in our facility and F1 racing. At the track my decision is the final say and Feb 26 is no exception. The rules are vague for the LeMans class on the Flyer and I have to go by what is on the Flyer and there is not a lot of info on the cars so I can see why there is confusion. I would hope that you would all not make this LeMan's class make or break deal as the point of this event is to come out and have fun and help support the NORA program. LeMan's is not a NORA class... we don't run it regularly. So I would ask that you try your best to put a LeMan's car together is the spirit of the full scale class... Ultimately if the tire rule is loose allowing rubber or foam... I would like to see bodies in the spirit of LeMan's or close to it. There is a concourse award for LeMan's class so if you want to be eligible for it I suggest you make your body look good and have it be in the spirit of the class. Also keep in mind you will be docked 10 laps for not having working headlights and tail lights. This is how it will be enforced on race day. I really hope you all are excited and I will make an effort to answer your questions one by one as I have more time today.
I think you may have a few racer like to race Pro10 and it could be a new breed classes in the furture...

Since 2013 I've enthusiastically watched the F-1 RC hobby progress in the NW
Tomorow F-1 dedicated race is another step up to consolidate the hobby and promote our local tracks, thanks to everyone who's positive attitude has helped come this far.
Oh, and just as in the 1/1 racing world, passion sometimes runs rampant - Hey it's all good!
Rules are set, pit machine is charged, cars are in the pit bag and most our friends have confirmed their attendance so fo now I leave you with some old and new F-1 photos for your car-porn fetishises

Here is a recap of NORA’s First Annual F1 Championship race event from Sunday, Feb 26th.
Presented by NORA On-Road, Broadway Hobbies, Gripworks RC, and Hella Graffix.
For starters… The event was an absolute blast. We opened with our drivers meeting and concourse award voting. Next there were a pit stop competition for both F1 and LeMans drivers. We had (12) F1 cars and (8) Le-Mans cars. We ran (2) 15 minute qualifiers for F1 with (2) mandatory pitstops and 15 minute mains. We also ran (2) 6 minute qualifiers… I think our LeMan’s guys got a bargain as we ran a 24 minute main event with a mandatory pit stop. All and all it was a fun event with a lot of wheel time for our racers. The overall vibe for the event was great and there were grins all around on everyone’s faces as we all had a great time. All of us at NORA are very proud of how this turned out and grateful to those racers who came out to support our event.
Before I go into details on the race results… I would like to thank Lou Debenny at Broadway Hobbies for sponsoring us with awards. We appreciate the support that Broadway Hobbies gives to our club and would not be as successful without the help of great business like Broadway Hobbies. I would like to thank Alex Pate at Gripworks RC for donating gift certificates for our racers and for supporting F1 racing in the region. Gripworks RC is just one hour to our North and is an active member in our racing community. Thank you Anthony Searles at Hella Graffix for the excellent artwork and quality awards that you supplied us with… Your awards and graphic design work is top quality every time and is always a treat to do business with such a great company in the RC business. I want to thank Lary Sim for helping prepare and maintain our race facility and for all the help with setting up. Thank you Russ Dyer and Chris Perry for help running the computer on race day. Thank you to Marcos Wanless for helping to promote the race.
