Not to say a reasonable brushless package for the F1 classes wouldn't be the ticket, but particularly with rubber tires, the silver can is still nicely matched. The available grip is right at the threshold with the silver can. And recall when WGT was first coming out and a few guys tried the 2s/silver can combo (eg. Gary April); the silver can F1 is not a boring car to drive. They're quick enough for a fun day of racing.
And affordable. The tires get better with wear.

Gary ran that package on very high bite surface.

Hmmmmm....
I TQ'd and won GT1 at the last TCS race at SIR, maybe I need to come out of retirement! :P
Looking at the rules, GT1 is brushless and Tamiya has their own brushless system now. Will have to check that out.
F1 sounds like fun, until I read the rules and both classes are using the silver cans. No thanks.
What have been really cool is if the Hanger could have got the TCS race instead of Galaxy....

That's the first thing I thought when I heard that Galaxy wanted to run parking lot races...it's a really rough lot.
Evidently you don't have to have much in terms of Tamiya stock on your shelves either in order to qualify, since I can't get anything for my Tamiyas when I walk into there.
Hopefully they decide to stock up on parts beforehand...unless the "T" in "TCS" stands for Traxxas.

If it wasn't pouring outside I'd take a pic, I was just at that Albertson's.
I think I'm gonna have to get a mini and get schooled by some ten year olds.

just wondering if both F-1 classes will be offered.
I'm also thinking sense this was mentioned on bens thread that he has something to do with it, wonder if it will be held at his track, with only the GH name on it????

It's the same it's always been, it was resealed at one point in the last 8 years but it's still rough; I'd run there though. It's nothing to keep you from racing. I'd like to say I hope this is a catalyst for parking lot racing at Galaxy but I'd hate for it to interfere with Ben's program. They are a great store with great people but I don't think any of them are real racers in terms of running a program, it could suffer.

Found a picture of the GT1 approved Tamiya ESC/motor combo. Not yet released, was just shown at the Tokyo hobby show. Price looks be around $140 overseas and $170 in the US. That's just for the ESC, no idea on the motor yet.

Also found the GT1 only approved tires, the B3 pre-mounts. Wait for the price....MSRP $69 per set! Ouch, but not surprising.

Hey at least the batteries are open to any hard case lipo!
Combine that with the cost of a TRF417 kit ($520) and you got some serious money to race one class, for one race...
