I'm not especially keen to spray anything or mark on the track right now. Let's just be cool and let it cure.

Rope, hose, dots, etc. to mark a track sounds fine, however. Have at it. Enjoy

I think metal dots should NOT be left on the surface.

Is there a concept drawing of the Island layout?

First the debate should be on if there should be islands or not!

For the record this is one of the nicest curbing jobs I've seen not only for looks but more function/form then anything. Also looks very simple and the least amount of concrete used. Less is more when it comes to ever having to make changes! Also it keep guys from jumping off back into the corner. You must drive out of the center section to an opening.

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.
I prefer this over islands. Islands look nice but can destroy your car those few times you hit them at speed. Plus you're limited with layouts and cost is another issue.

Yeah, I agree those are perfect. What do you think, are they about 1 inch at the peak ? Hard to tell but I would imagine its enough to penalize you for going over in some instances but not hugely. Less roll overs, more good racing.

The Portugal track. I like that one a lot. And while the minimal berm treatment is great, I think the use of visual as a barrier is just as important to see. Look at how pared back the physical barrier can be when the visual barrier is well executed.

I'm still camped in this conference room in Toronto. I have yet to see our new track in person. Though for sure, I've been sent the bill! But it's all good. The money was raised. I am really looking forward to getting to work to turn our patch of dedicated-to-RC smooth asphalt into a proper race circuit to host our summer outdoor program. It will be something good

Find any racing in Toronto? It can't be all work and no play.

I am sure Stuart is getting the cars all ready for your return.

Oh, I had all sorts of plans to see the sights on the company dime. But I officially logged the longest paid week of my life--88.5 billed hours. Actually working, unfortunately. I teared up on the phone talking to the wife Sunday night Such a tired baby

Anyway...enough of that!

Tracy threw the 1/12th out there with 2mm of ride height and it was great. I remember once upon a time claiming that a World GT, 2s, 21.5, with a detached wing LeMans body and pink rears would be the one class I would give up sedan for outdoors.

With Stuart doing fine calling races at FW this summer, he could race Mod TC and I could race World GT, and there's a race calling team. Maybe one more would be good? Just thinking through the logistics of how to make it happen and stay solid with my own program...

I would help but have no idea what I'm doing. Although I could give a heathy dose of trash talking for 5 minutes...
