Default awesome

IWent out there last night to check out the graded area for the track and partial stand. Looks great !!! Thanks for the hard work Todd. A permanent track ! yowza ! thats unbelievable to be honest.

I do have some questions, mostly curious where the pits are going to be. I would think along the backside furthest away from the drivers stand. This would allow a driver to see his/hers valuables while on the stand most easily AND leave the longest back straight possible while keeping the driven track close to the drivers stand. Also, are the pits / popups going to be on asphalt ? or concrete, or ?

just roughly I paced it off last night. It appears to be 150' x 90'+ between the drainage. [ edit , after measuring it it is 130 x 90 ] I haven't golfed much lately, so my gate might be off a bit, but got 54 paces and 33.

Awesome stuff Todd. Thanks for spearheading this and putting so much time, energy and money into this. It is greatly appreciated.

Buggy works... All is well !

Cheers,

Jake

150' x 90'...

That's huge. Too big. I need to shrink it. I was thinking 120' x 60' with a wide belt of grass. Maybe 90' x 45'. A nice little outdoor 1/12th track. Even better

Like I said, I need to bring my landscape tape and re-measure now that the drain is in.

150' x 90'...oi vey.

Consider keeping it big Todd, just design it where the track design could be changed when needed to make it smaller. Some tracks like the Ranch Pit Shop could do large 1/8 scale races like for the McCoy races, then when they would host 1/12 scale races like the Trinity Shoot Out's they would enter onto the straight in a different spot and the track was smaller for them. Think Islands

Just a .02

P.S. I know we can't do Nitro races but we could do 1/8 and 1/10 200mm electric stuff plus maybe do 1/10 235mm pan car stuff. Tons of fun!

I think cost ( of professionally laid asphalt ) is the only issue from making it as big as Timezone.

Default cool

Looking pretty nice. Thanks for all the work on this Todd. I hope you will let us all know if there is anything we can help with.
Hopefully your paced off size is correct Jake, 150x90 would be a nice size, enough for future versatility. We will be happy having doing it now than wishing we had after its too late. Since the asphalt crew will be out, saves in cost to do it while they are there. Adding later would be tough to do.

There was an off-roader there that runs daily. Said he'd love to run Onroad with his electric 1/8 th scale. I think it is called GT8.

Yeah, I hope I didn't miss count my steps ! Lol

Is the plan to have a ribbon with a couple size options, or to have a large asphalt rectangle with some fixed islands and temporary connecting barriers for layouts changes over the years?

The bigger the better... that's at least what she said.

I plan on taking the basher over Friday after dropping the herd off at the airport... I will throw my measuring wheel in if no one gets to measuring it by then.

Any plans for permanent power? I have so.e skills if need be... pretty sure I still remember a thing or 2.
