Default Offroad Work Party

Offroad Work Party
Saturday, May 3
9am

The track will be undergoing a major upgrade. Before we shovel out the huge pile of premium track dirt, a major drain install will be undertaken. Rock, pipe, and vaults are at the ready to provide perimeter and interior drain relief to accentuate the already excellent water-shedding character of the track.

The parks department is providing big support for the effort, but manpower is required. Bring a shovel, gloves, and perhaps a wheel barrow if you have one.

Let's get 'r done!

Forecast has rain late Friday through early Saturday Morning. If this is canceled how early will this be noted (and where)? Made the mistake before of missing a last minute cancellation.

Dusting off my college English skills, I believe a formal example of "irony" would be cancelling a work party to install the track drain because of rain.

I talked to Don. The park has rented equipment. It's a "go" regardless of weather.

So, wrap up your puttees and charge over the berm on the whistle. Malingerers will be court martialed and hanged.

Default Offroad Update

Big work weekend at Seatac. Drains dug, graveled, and covered. Table top moved. Picnic area grubbed out. Other stuff as well. Good job, and thanks to all who pitched in on both days.

So, while Stuart and I were enjoying a Fantasy World race day (and taking turns each of us at the mike), the Seatac crew, led by Don Parker, rallied and put the track up for the coming summer. It looks amazing! A load of fresh dirt, new pipes, updated layout and jumps, and an overall huge upgrade. Conduit is in place for a future loop, and a concrete pad is poured for a Honey Bucket. I took my dad down today to see it, as he hasn't been back since he came over for the big drivers stand build in 2012. He was really happy to see the fruits of that day's labors.

Anyway, here's a vid of the boy burning a pack today.

On my B4.2 with an 8.0, I find that Bow-Ties in the M3 soft compound in the rear, and Hole Shots up front, have hooked up and been very durable. It's an all-around multi-surface track, so an all-around setup is good.

Oh man, that looks awesome! Looks like it's time to dust off the 22SCT and B4.2, get some appropriate tires and hit the dirt. Thanks Todd and everyone else involved!
