Default It's alive, ALIVE!!!!

See what happens when you don't check RCTECH for a week ... a track is born!

What's the dirt like? Any tires recommendations?

Thanks guys. I will be there soon!

That was a lot of hard work but so worth it! I'm very excited

By the way, did anyone find a small black flashlight anywhere on the track? I lost my EDC light sometime during the day, probably while I was getting torn up by that dirt compactor

2000 South 136th ST, North SEATAC PARK, seatac wa. is the address of the park maintenance building, it is across the street. east of the BMX track, right on the road.

Hi folks,
I would like to thank everyone again for the help too. Getting this going for the summer is what we needed and it will only get better.

See you at the track.

Looks like rains in the forecast for the next week. But.. doesn't mean it can't change. If anyone wants to get a "beautify" work party together, I'm all there. You know, like borders and/or compacting the surface even more. Maybe lining the driveway with rocks. Taking a weedwacker to the area where the pits will be.

Even going nuts with building some pit tables*, or a back wall to keep the vehicles from flipping into the drainage pit. (just raise it 3" off the ground so water still passes through)). I can help with funding for supplies.

*I'm guessing that would have to go through parks department though.

I was going to go check out the track again today, Tuesday, a little after Noon. My string trimmer is a weakling but I will bring it anyway and whack some weeds. I will bring some RC cars too, just to make sure the track still works.

I went to the track yesterday afternoon and swept off the surface. With the right tires, it's a pretty drivable track. With the right tires and a surface free of loose rocks, handling is fairly predictable, and sliding through the corners is really fun.

I brought a hose as well that I was planning on leaving there so that people could wet the surface, but I found the spigot was locked. Is this locked by the city, or Seattle RC? Is there a way we could give club members access to it?

Here's a video of me testing it out. The car is a Losi XXX-T with SC conversion, running a Novak 17.5 on Pro-Line Gladiator (soft) tires.

I also took a panorama from the drivers' stand.

Thanks again to everyone who made this possible. It's already doing wonders to promote R/C within the community. We should try to get a sign installed with the name of the club and track rules. First question everyone asks is, "So is this open to the public?"
