Subscribed - tired of digging out forest tracks that only get abused by BMX riders! I'm in for some shoveling or whatever else remains.

I'm curious... what happens during the first year and we end up with 50 plus people every weekend? Who runs the show, or is it going to be a demolition derby?

You have everyone run in 6 minute groups...it gives you time to repair, tweak, or charge your car as well.

I think AstroTurf on the jumps will cut out a lot o maintenance and keep the track from blowing out for much longer.

im thinking it will be ran by seattle rc racers but im not a hundred percent seeming that todd is president of that club and he posted this idk but if its like hanger 30 then open practice when theres time and 2-3 quals but we need a track before that gets decided i guess hahha im super pumped for weather to get better so it can be finished!!!

From my understanding its a public track. So technically the city runs it but I think you can use it for events and what not. It would be whoever is holding the event to be in charge.
Not 100% on this.

as I understand it, this is a open public track that seattle RC has the right to hold scheduled events at. I take that to mean, that when you go down there on any given day, it is open to what ever. on race day, seattle rc is in charge..

Ritchie is correct, as far as I know too. However the race program is very much to be determined. So far the focus has been to complete the facility to the park's satisfaction. It has a little more to go with the driver stand this spring. The track itself will be open to interpretation at first, then refined, then a possible race program. I would guess that a real program for this coming year may be premature. It would not mean that an end of season race could not be put on, but I have yet to hear of someone coming forward to run a full program. It is a lot of work, as most of you that have been the race directors know. Even Todd needs a brake from running the show and the winter hangar program.

In short, there are 2 agendas. The first is to complete the track and get the community interest going. Let the people come out of the woodwork to take the track under thier wings. There are a few of you in the rc racers now but their are many locals in the wings waiting to get to bash and play. The other agenda, organized racing, is still very much open ended and to be determined. Not a so much a question of how to run it but who will run it.

It has been awhile since we have had a meeting with the parks people. I have suggested we reconvene, get the next set of punch list items to focus on, and go from there. Stay tuned...

Tracy

I have my Losi Mini8 just sitting collecting dust versus collecting dirt at the moment.

(Give the Mini 8 a whirl, you will be surprised).

Anyhow, I don't check the threads enough these days. If a maintenance or build day is coming up soon, email me (should be able to through PM).
