For sure, scrubbing tires are wearing tires.
I do not know whether USGT tire compounds have shifted over time.
I DO know that I got two full competitive race days out of a single set of touring tires this season, which is no more or less than I've expected to get out of my tires on any track, sprayed or no.
Not to belabor the obvious and no disrespect to anyone at all - setup helps a lot. I know for myself, making the transition from carpet to asphalt, letting the car work and transfer its weight is an adaptation I have to make in my driving style, as well.

Comparing a touring car compound/tire to the USGT compound and calling it anything similar is a bit insulting. You all have a choice in your tire and compounds. If the tires wear terribly on our surface, you don't select them. I've been part of that selection process in the past. USGT does not have that choice. USGT needs some grip, it's a crappy compound. Your compounds don't double on asphalt and carpet either.
As a side note, running these tires on a parking lot with a pop-sprayed surface still last an entire summer.

I haven't ran the new belted USGT tires, but I do know that since we stopped spraying the track, the USGT tires get eaten alive. Just a lot of scrubbing on the rubber. So it could be a bit of a double whammy with the new tires.
Over the past few years, we've gone from the usgt tires lasting an entire summer, to them lasting a couple race days. Whatever factors may be causing it, it sucks.

But again .what ever the club decided for what is best for us racers I am in

Judging by this picture of the TQ winning car at the most recent Florida series race, we are not the only ones with some tire wear 😁 Race fast my friends!

Bondo was invented in Florida. Not exactly a palate cleanser, but it's true.
EDIT: forgot to even ask: are people running belted USGT or not belted? Just curious.

I found a video from Hobby Clown "TEAM ASSOCIATED SR10 STREET STOCK ROAD RACE CAMARO Z28" running at SeaTac (not sure why I can't copy and past the link). Does this RTR fit into an existing class? Probably not.
It's basically a B4/B5/RB10 with a Monte body and cool street tires. I've found lots of oval racing videos on YouTube...not much road course action. Adding an SR10 spec class could do what stock SLASH racing did for the off-road side of the hobby. I've always wanted to run the paved side of SeaTac and considered many different kits...the SR10 seems like an easy and fun entry into paved racing. Maybe Hobby Clown will see this post and we can at least run an official class on non-race days.
