Turns out, the Seatac track is a 5min drive from my office. What is the spec tire? I've ordered a touring car

Hey Peter! Very cool that you’ll be running with us again. Currently our spec tire is sold by the club trackside. Its the contact A34. When do you think you’ll have it built ? We have a race this Saturday.

Cheers,

Jake

Hi Jake - I'll be out of town this weekend, but maybe by the next race I'll be out there. Are the tires available to pick up anywhere else so I can get some practice sets, or can I buy them from the club and have them shipped to me?

What traction compound/heating regimen is preferred? How many runs will a set last?

PM me, wrt getting the tires in advance.

Very recently ( after the sizzler ) I started using paragon Special FX with heat. It isn’t greasy like the FX2 is early in the run. Some people like Mighty Gripper White. Its still a moving target as to what’s best, because the ambient temps between race days has fluctuated a lot.

Hey Peter,

These are the spec tires: https://www.racing-cars.com/1-10th-t...c-pk4-jr--34ry

They are not finicky tires, and they are durable. One set gets you a full day of mod racing and practice after. FX2 and 15 minutes on the warmers gets you 90% of what you're looking for. As Jake writes, you can get some incremental gains by trying some other things. You know the drill--the last 10% on a given day with conditions is the hard part.

Hope to see you out soon! I think you'll have fun.

Please recommend a good kit to start on-road with. I do not want to spend $700 on a chassis. Is the TA08 a good choice? My friend and I just want to turn some laps and eventually enter races.

Also, any ESC/motor combos recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks!
