I'm working on the permit for clearing right now, along with a rough-in of a drainage plan to show the city. I'm no one's civil engineer, that's for sure! It should take a couple more weeks.

Tree-topping and excavating help is lined up. There is a good, affordable plan for machinery rental. I hope to show some on-the-ground results in a month's time.

Is this going to be on 136th, by the bmx track? I drove around the park looking for a Land Use sign but didnt see one. Did see some marked trees by the bmx track though.

Made some progress at the site yesterday. Finally! Two broken and stuck backhoes for the city, but we cleared away some of the jungle so that we can come up with a reasonable guesstimate of the actual track locations so that we can move ahead with the tree removal and clearing permits. Yes, clearing so that you can get permission to clear...it's a process

Anyway, six hours of battling blackberries for me, but I got most of the cyclone fence out of the bramble which gives the brush hog better access to the site. It doesn't look like much, yet. But I'll count it as a start.

Default Flagging trees

Short notice on this one, but if anyone would like to join me...

Tomorrow, along with the park director and a planning department guy, I will be marking which trees go and which stay.

Additionally, given the preliminary clearing we've done, we should be able to locate the tracks on the site for the purpose of obtaining the big clearing permit and roughing out the prospective drainage solutions.

9am at the site. 200' due east of the BMX track on 136th in SeaTac. It should not entail much work, but it will definitely include stomping around in the wet. No rainouts.

Is there any update on this track?

I drove by it yesterday and could see it still looks like the picture with some of the trees marked.

The Gears of Democracy grind on. Waiting on a permit for clearing. Everything seems to be in order. I will simply say that I have tremendous respect for anyone who develops on public land. It's unbelievable how long it all takes and how many people have a say. Crikey.

To sum up: it's all good. We have a budget. Aiming for a dirt track this summer.

A dirt track before summer is over would be great if they make it...I have a XXXT saved up just for the occasion. What time frame is the onroad track slated to be completed?

Default My New Onroad Timeline

That and a disemboweled chicken tells me: fourteen turns of the moon.

Straight up, Kevin? I don't know, so I hesitate to say. There's a plan. I'm just trying to knock it down one step at a time with the resources at hand.

Hey Todd, just a FYI, the tacoma home depot is remodeling and there are lots of those rack systems in the parking lot. Would make for cheap and easy driver stand. I know storage is Issue but thought I'd let you know.
