A message to SRCR Racers regarding this year’s club elections (mostly copied from Bill :P):
It is time again for club elections. Sorry I'm a little late this year, but I'll get the ball rolling.
Open Positions: The three roles up for election this year are:
--- Qty 1 Secretary
--- Qty 2 Representatives
Each role is described in the club’s Constitution and Bylaws at
https://seattlerc.files.wordpress.co...and-bylaws.pdf
Nominations: Please PM nominations for Secretary and / or Representative to myself. Nominations received by May 1st, 2017 will be announced and put on the ballot. Self nominations are also accepted.
Voting: In our new digital age, I figure this is a good time to take advantage of Google forms/polls. I will setup a Google poll on May 5th, 2017 for people to cast their vote.
Why Should You Get Involved? This is an exciting time to be involved in SRCR’s club leadership. We have upcoming decisions to be made about outdoor onroad programs and next season’s indoor programs. Also, the Representatives and Secretary have an important role in developing racing rules. If you have a passion for RC racing and want to be a positive influence in our club, please consider nomination for Representative or Secretary.
Please let me or anyone on the Competition Committee know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
-Korey Harbke

Weather not looking to good. Would anybody have any issue if I ran a tamyia gt body and b3 tires in stock sedan and also b3 tires in scale spec? I have a 17.5 motor in it but I want to get a setup going for galaxy. If it's a problem I can run a sedan body in stock and gravity tires in scale spec. Are stock sedan tires going to be sold at this club race?

My read on the forecast is that we can run a complete, crisp program before the rain comes. Unless you read otherwise from me, we will run.
Justin, I'd say you're stock car is good with a GT body. I have no problem there. And it's open (rubber) tire, so you're fine. On the Scale Spec, I'll ask you to meet the rules for our program.

If I do not have a power source could someone help me out so then maybe I can get out and do some racing. I do have a long power cord I would bring with me.

Nevermind I need to stay home and take care of my sick wife and be a good husband cause a happy wife means happy life. So I hope to make it out on the 113th and alittle more prepared.
I do enjoy the seatac asphalt track it is at the top of my list of favorite onroad asphalt tracks. So to everyone who helps or has helped make this happen thank you it is like a slice of heaven on earth.

Great season opener yesterday! Thanks to those that braved the potential rain and "cool" temperatures to make it happen!

Our 2017 Seatac RC Raceway campaign began strong, with robust mains for our core touring classes, enthusiastic novices, F1 fanatics, and even a budding Modified 1/12th effort. With 46 entries, on a day when many were looking up, questioning whether a rainout was imminent (it stayed dry, right to end), I have to think that our season has launched with conviction. Outdoor racing, in Seattle, in April!
Rather than a class by class report, I want to make a couple observations of the program as it ran.
Jake sprayed on Friday, during the warm afternoon. That set us up for a simple track setup come Saturday morning, Mike Boyle blew it off, with an assist from Ken, and Stuart and I set out the lane dividers. It was simple, with no anxious waiting for the track to dry. I would characterize the grip as medium low. A good tire choice made for an enjoyable day, while those on 36's were waiting for the grip to come in during their runs, to my eye into the fourth minute. Too long. I think 32s, 28s, were the fast choice. That said, Brian Shook looked pretty good on Team Powers 34s, but Brian may be the ultimate asphalt dog in our pack. He makes do on carpet, but come the outdoors, well, there is a reason he is a double national champion on both rubber and foam tires. He just clicks with it. Anyway, in these early weeks before summer, I think this is a smart approach to spray on Friday, race on Saturday, provided there is no overnight rain.
I saw more guys pitting directly across from me on the back side. That will be an important area to continue developing over the summer. We will have to come up with an amusing name, “The Pasture,” “The Back 40,” “The Landfill,” something to distinguish it and throw off the out-of-towners. Imagine: “You, yea you, go pit in The Landfill, streetside is for locals only. I'll cut you.” Something like that.
Self-sufficiency is the way to go. Providing our own power is proving to be not a problem. The ethic suits us. One of the tidiest setups I see is a brick lipo powering an iCharger. A couple of guys have those, and it's sano--clean, quiet, and simple. If I could power race central with a big lipo I would!
We race again in two weeks. Cultivate good karma, and offer hekatombs to Apollo, Ra, or whichever solar deity speaks to you.
Results attached.

It looks like the weather is going to be acceptable for practice on Wed the 3rd. I anticipate blowing the track ~3 pm and setting up a course.
