We run on a Carpet Oval, indoors during the winter, and on a tightly packed, banked Dirt Oval outdoors during the summer.
www.norarcoval.com
The number of participants are around the same. The carpet series is strictly electric with Pan Cars, 1/18 scale Losi, Touring Cars, 2wd Transmission and Jalopy.
On the Dirt Oval we drop the Pan Cars and Jalopies and have a couple Nitro Classes and Sprint car Classes. You can check the NORA site and see what we run and when.
You build it and I'm sure a lot of our guys would check it out.
Personally I prefer the dirt oval. But Carpet or pavement would be fun too.:tire::nod::tire:

as some may know or not know we have run into some trouble with the skagit county fairgrounds. due to financial reasons the fairgrounds are closing and were losing our race track. below is a memo from our carpet oval director regarding this years schedule.......

Hi all,
I know everyone is wanting to know what is happening for the winter season, we have just had a emergency board meeting as to what is happening, and the board has decided this:
Due to the circumstances beyond our control, the board has decided to start 1 week earlier (friday October 23rd) to be able to keep the best 7 of 9 series which will be series 1 racing every week, this is due to the fair grounds only guaranteeing us to be able to use the building till the end of the year. On or before December we will be discussing with the Skagit County Parks and Recreation Director to see if we will be able to stay and continue Series 2 (Jan till March) the board is still open to looking for a building that will accommodate us, At least a building 50x120 (we have had some options that the board is looking into)

Also Allen Taxdahl has agreed to be the Saturday Road course dirctor, and put together a schedule starting October 31st, and racing every other weekend. with 4 different classes, more info to follow.

Winter Carpet at the Fairgrounds

Patrick, Marilyn and myself met with Brian Adams, head of Sk Co. Parks and Rec this morning, we have a verbal commitment from Brian and Pauli at SCPandR that we can run our complete 18 race season. So, if you have a flyer that shows only series 1 on it, throw it away, a new flyer will be out very soon. Start date will be Oct.30th, new carpet from Calandra is on the way, should be a great winter race season.:nod::nod:

Thanks all, your acting carpet director, Michael Houser. :tire:
