Default Start TIME CHANGE to 5:00PM due to heat!!!!

START TIME MOVED 1 HOUR LATER TO 5 PM DUE TO 100+ DEGREE TEMPERATURES

Due to outrageous heat this weekend we are going to push the start time back 1 hr to get a little closer to the temp drop, with this change we should still finish by 1130 with Double A's if all goes smooth

Default Club 8 Results

Well it was a scorching hot day here in the Tri-Cities but that didnt stop everyone from coming out and participating in a great day of racing. There was some great action in each and every class from start to finish. Justin Wilde and Greg Anderson battled in the Slash A mains for the win. Rob Howe duked it out with Joe Scales in Mod Short Course, Jesse Howell, Justin Wilde, and Jade Russell were fast in 4WD, Jade Russell, Shannon Azure, Chris Welch, and Jesse Howell all saw action near the front of the pack in 1/8 buggy. It just shows how strong this club has become that triple digit heat wont scare our crew away. Congrats to all the Podium finishers and a thank you to those who traveled from Moses Lake and Spokane we appreciate the support.

With a little cooler weather the track held moisture and proved with some great traction in the Mains. On the last race on the current layout some familar faces were at the top of podium while some new faces broke through as well. The main shakeup was in the 2WD Truck class where Rob Brackett in his first race with a RC10T4 took the overall followed by Steve O'Neill and Kim Shank. It was a great way to say goodbye to the current layout and get ready for the final 2 races. As a reminder the track will be closed until September 12 and club race #10. If anyone wants to help with track work on the 21, 22, and 23 this weekend there should be people out working on the track all weekend.

Well I don't know if it was the unseasonably warm weather, the fact that the NCT is next week or if everyone forgot since the long layoff but the turnout was the lowest we had all year . Even with the low turnouts we had some great racing action and a chance to try out the new layout which turned out to be a big success, even though i may be a little biased . It has fast sections and tight technical sections that can really deter a good lap with any bobbles. Should make for some great NCT battles. Results posted and linked below

Default Slash Drivers

There are a lot of slash drivers in and around Pasco. How many are planning on bring them up and racing at the Mapston Memorial race?

Dunno Darren, a lot of the slash guys do just that and don't travel real well, i am trying to get a few people to come up to the race who may not normally travel and its not going so well so far. I will keep working on it, you guys are running a Corr based class right so any kit with 17.5 27T or Titan motors?
I will keep plugging away for it

Thanks Justin, that is what I figured.
As far as I know, the brushless stock equivilent is ok.
Damon will need to clarify this one. This is kind of his class.

Huh?

Um... I would say anything ROAR considers a "stock" motor would be stock enough for us. 17.5 brushless fits that description.

Darren asked me for some guidelines on the class, so I guess it kinda is "my" class... LOL! The idea is to allow pretty much anyone who has a CORR truck to be able to race it without having to spend extra money to make it legal.

lol - sorry Damon. I think you have raced this class enough to really know whats what. Well said about making the race available to anyone with a CORR.

Default Racing on 10/10?

We will be visiting family in the area and was hoping to run some practice over the weekend @ Northwest RC Speedway.

It looked like the track was open for practice year round. Is this correct?

I also noticed on your club site that you are holding a race on 10/10 @ 12pm. Throwing in a race would be a bonus. Is it open to all or just club members?

Last question I have is we will be pulling a 27ft. travel trailer is there space to park it at the track?

Thanks in advance for the information...

Default yes racing on 10/10

yes, yes, and yes
Track is open year round, and we decided to run a 2 qual 1 main race on Sat 10/10 for $5 at 12:00pm and it is open to everyone we dont have memberships, and yes there is plenty of room for a 27 foot trailer in the fields surrounding the track, just find someone when you show up and we will point you in a good direction.

Thanks again for the 411. Looking forward to spending a couple of days playing while I'm there.

Do you have transponders for use/rental at the track? If not is there a local place nearby that carries them?
