For those racers caught out by this decision, know this:

1. We feel your pain. I'm out a non-trivial investment in D3.5 spec motors myself, as are other members of the Comp Committee.

2. Racers routinely travel hundreds of miles and log many hours on the road to attend our club races. No rules structure is perfect. No mechanism for enforcement is perfect. But, we try our best to reward the effort racers put in to get here with the best possible program we can create. We cannot promise an equal outcome for all, but every competitor can count on our effort to cultivate a fair field of play.

3. The Comp Committee has dived into its collective pit box and we will have on hand several quality, compliant 17.5 motors for the use of those racers who do not have a suitable replacement for their D3.5. We will have these on hand for the remainder of this race season. PM me or email the club at [email protected] if you need a motor now or in the future.

Race on
And 3.5 based motors as well....

Back to the SchuurSpeed... It's too bad, the Fantom tuned D3.5 was awesome! Complying with ROAR is important, though. I wonder if there's any chance ROAR's decision will change? Just in case, I guess I'll hold onto the D3.5. I mean, no one would buy it anyway...

I guess that agreement would be, since the club requires ROAR membership, to follow the rules and not allow them..

Alright, alright, alriggghhhttt.

Is f103gt car allowed in scale spec class if it meets the minimum weight, motor, and tire requirement? I am just curious.

Default 17.5T Available to Borrow

Hey guys,

If anyone wants to borrow a 17.5T motor tomorrow, send me a PM. I have an extra Trinity D3 with an optional high-torque rotor, which is good for touring especially. I am not looking to sell it, but would be happy to lend it to someone.

Peace,
Sam

What a mess this motor thing has made. Kyle, this only effects the Trinity D3.5 17.5 and it's oem partner made motors. Being that the club is aligned with Roar, we should follow their lead, like it or not. If we let this slide, it sends the message it's ok to fudge a few rules, opens Pandora's box, everything becomes gray, no racing credibility takes place from this point forward. Yes, this sucks for those invested. Just remember this fact in the future when you have a shopping choice. There are tons of great products out there.

I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for yet another epic (ok, wont use that word anymore) night of racing. OH! Bring those WGT's out.

Oh, Hey Kyle..... I heard you pulled the biscuit out of the oven a little over a week ago. Awesome job buddy. Everything good? Sleeping? Lots of daddy time? Now you need to lay off the wife or she's gonna have to get a Zip Loc installed.

Fact #1: Ron Schuur is head of ROAR? No. He is the "Technical Director"

Fact #2: Did Ron do the testing on the D3.5? No. Ex President Steve Pond did.

Yep.. SHE got extracted last Friday... beautiful little girl. About the same size as a WGT... Me and Logan will have our hands full and be outnumbered..... future RC endeavours forthcoming.... My Lia's initials are LRP and my new little one, Lauryn's are LCP.... both are what I'm "packing"..... funny how that worked out.... Reedy was on the list too but got shut down again.... not another chance. 3 and out for this guy..

well that sucks... but i have to agree with the decision to disallow the motor. and have to give props to the CC for offering up loaner motors.

On a totally unrelated note... I cant wait to be on the track again....
