Hey Cole,

the next race will be Saturday, Oct. 20th. We usually start setup around 5 or so, with the first race going off at 7. Come check it out, it's a great club!!

We will be in the Community center gym, which is the second right after the main entrance, and the first main building on the left.

Seattlercracers.com has all the info as well.

As in, when racing with silver can cars as well, just gearing alone won't do the trick. we geared those motors as far as we could without burning up, and that was just to stay on pace. With the added timing this year, it's much easier with those motors to make the needed power to, say, break a track record previously held by a silver can car.

Ritchie,

Last year was spec'd 30* on the endbell for 25.5. Are you suggesting going even lower than that?

Since corner speed is king in Scale Spec, we may just not be good enough with the driving and setup yet to make that low an FDR work. I know you're modest, but you can still wheel better than most of us.

Whoa, Phil set the track record?!? (Just looked back through results, and the best previous I found was Kuney's 24/6:06). To be sure, that was a great run from Phil, and a well-deserved record. But I bet 25 laps will happen this season, and soon.

Bill's pace was only 3 seconds off Phil's. My pace was only another second off that, with just throwing the car down on the track with a silver can, baseline gearing, and basically random setup. It felt like there was a fair amount of room for improvement, both in motor as well as cornering, and definitely consistency. I wasn't even traction-rolling.

Will Phil be the first to hit 25? Will Franko make a come-back and snatch the glory? Will Kuney show his guns? Maybe Greg will give us a taste of his summertime VTA dominance? Or perhaps a rare Mark Brown sighting?

24/6.02 is the new mark, so yes, I'd say at some point, Phil, myself, Kuney, Franko, or anyone for that matter will break 25 laps. With the traction and warmth we have now in the new digs, I'd say anything is possible.

No I am not, it was posted a 3.3 gear at 45* , I suggested taller gear with lower timing, I.e. 3.0 at 40* the ballistics don't usually like full timing.

Ps your gearing / timing may vary. The ones I posted are only examples.

Not sure if many of you know but BMI racing has gotten into the battery business and has released a nice 2s battery for a great price. But if any of you would like to see one I will have one at the next club race in my mod tc. (Spec r r1)

Not a bad idea actually, I didn't know that about the Ballistics.

+2 about you coming back out again, Scale spec has some stacked nights, and it really makes it fun. I think it's safe to say every class has been stacked this season so far.

BTW, How does that R1 look? I take it you've built it already.....
