Thanks to Todd and the H30 crew for a fun day of racing, in a fabulous facility.
I certainly hope that all the Seattle racers continue realize how good they have it, and continue to support your wonderful program.

I really appreciate the donation of your old carpet, to give carpet racing a jump start in Spokane. It's been several years since Spokane has had a real carpet program. Hopefully this will be the beginning of it's re-birth!

Special thanks to BB for the bed and breakfast, and thanks to Cody for the entertainment in the pits.

See y'all @ nats!!!

Default heat sink

Is any one running a heat sink with a fan in there cars? How much benefit is being accomplished?

I ran without one on my 21.5 at the ecc and temps were around 190 mounted a fan on the chassis right behind the motor and ran the 2nd qual same gearing and temps were around 140 so I would say it def helps

All brushless motors should enable the user to bolt on a fan and be designed for ventilation. Trinity almost has it right with the D3, except the vent holes make it so you have to mount the motor a certain way. Team Powers had it almost spot on except you had to tape the fan on...but their open end bell is the way to go.

That said...yeah it helps.

For instance, my Novak motor needs to be geared to the point of meltdown to be fast. At the Timezone GP when I finally got the gearing right the car was coming off at 190 degrees, and I demagnetized a rotor and almost burnt the stator. Ghetto fashioned a fan onto it and it dropped to 160-170 and survived the entire event.

But that's also assuming your motor gets hot. I was able to gear my viper 17.5 to be fast but it never got too hot unless I added too much timing. Without a fan it was only coming off at 150. So I could add a fan and bring it down lower, but there is a weight to performance compromise you gotta make...and just because it is getting super hot doesn't mean it's fast either, some motors will run fast and strong and come off cooler than others.

hey take your tekin out of your old 1/12th. its not a pain to use when you run 2s. plus that is what most are running. but then again the viper is going to be released very shortly.

Oh! Dude! There is no boost, so it doesnt matter anymore. That was the inspired genius behind the boosticide movement of last year: it is a completely level playing field now.

So you can buy and run anything you want and as long as that little LED is blinking its exactly the same as the other guy's.

So I get the ones with the coolest looking zipties. LRP. Hands down.

LMFAO

Which ESC?

I dunno, man. I'd buy the one with the most corner speed. As soon as I figure it out I'm going to buy five of them!
