I'm not blaming temp carpet for my onroad fizzle-out. It's more my personality. I play FPS, not RPG. Get in, throw down, get out. Spending 350-550 on a sedan that never drives right is a shame. Wanting to smash a pan car into a million pieces doesn't feel good.

Onroad carpet racing demands an excruciating (for me) amount of precision that is shit-cocked by errant fuzz, dust, sand, and varying climate conditions. Hence, my recent offroad fetish. No oil in 3 of 4 shocks? Drive it and maybe podium...and only spend $250 on the latest and greatest chassis! ...and I've never said "Hey! Someone clean the dirt off that dirt!"

BUT, when carpet onroad is on there's nothing better. It's like "oh my God it's a double rainbow" good. But that doesn't happen enough, for me anyway. Why did the Slash become an overnight sensation?

Anyhoo, lemme know when it's time to drive knobby tires and catch air.

first no flaming, but most of that was non sense

second, seriously, do they or do they not sweep the dirt off the dirt track groove, YES THEY DO.

third the reason you might make the podium is cause no body good showed up to race.

the slash was a over night hit, because it was something that looked like a actual race truck that the public had been begging for for years and it was only 200.00, I bought one, when the SC10 was released and allowed to run the same class, I sold mine.

btw, the pan car thing, i gave my 1/12 a few trys and said this is stupid and sold it, got a wgt and no issues what so ever other then being severly underpowered and it is now sold as well.

We just need to keep putting laps on it and the groove will form.

Would the fact that the carpet is sitting on cold concrete have anything to do with it?

Also, are tire warmers used in carpet racing and what is the proper care/cleaning/saucing for WGT tires on carpet...

Just want to make sure I look like I know what I am doing on Saturday...

Those boys need to learn a thing or two about tidiness too. Place is a big sty everytime we show up. Cars will work alot better if you clean the track every now and then.

Default 1/12th scale parts

I dont suppose the tub might have a setup board, body washers, rideheight shims for the front of a AE 12r5, and rollover antenna?

Default Bearings again...

I just pulled my bearings out of my TC6 and this was the worst one. What exactley causes these bearings to crumble. I will admit I have hit the wall a time or two, would that do it?

Why do you ask questions to which you already know the answers?

I once ripped the rear corner off my car. Replaced pivot blocks and hinge pin, but missed the fact that the bearing was roasted. It fell apart in the warmup and I missed the main.

Remember Brian and others talking about bearings a few pages back!?!?! Like Brian posted, Good bearings = Wins or a better handling car at least! lol

I pull bearings out after every two days of running on carpet to check them. Asphalt my car comes apart after 1 race day. A clean car will last longer then a dirt infested car as well...

Keep'em fresh and free!

That pretty much sums up my life's experience with Jaco Blues, amplified by Jack the Gripper.. I really do not understand why we continue to abuse ourselves with that tire. The Sweep and Solaris tire feel worlds above the Jaco Blue.

I don't suppose there might be enough 1/12th racers to run a 17.5 class tomorrow as practice for the weekend?
