Default Bearings!

Hey Gang,
Just a shameless plug for Slapmaster Tools.... I am bringing in Avid bearings for sale. I have an initial order coming just to get the ball rolling. Unfortunately I will be out of town for the set up day on the 5th, the race on the 9th and the Regional Race on the 12th. There is the slimmest of slim chances that they will arrive by this Friday at which maybe I could arrange something.

Now down to the facts. I have some popular metric bearings the TC guys use coming in the Revolution Series which is half rubber seal, half stainless seal. These bearings are 5x10 & 10x15.

In stainless steel seals, I will have 4x8, 1/8x5/16 flanged, 1/4x3/8 unflanged.

Unfortunately the popular pan car bearings 3/16x5/16 flanged and 1/4x3/8 flanged are out of stock and will not be included with my first shipment.

I will likely be packaging these bearings as so:
5x10 - 10 pkg
10x15 - 2 pkg
4x8 - 2 pkg
1/8x5/16f - 10 pkg
3/16x5/16f - 10 pkg
1/4x3/8f - 10 pkg
1/4x3/8uf - 2 pkg

A buck a bearing.

I will certainly keep tabs of any special size requests, but I am a lousy mind reader. You will have to let me know and realize that I have a minimum dollar amount per order. Ceramics are also available at 5 times the cost, but I did not order any this time around. I question the durability of ceramics with H30's new corners. If anyone is running them, I could use some feedback.

I do thank everyone for their support and the support of H30!

What kind of roll out/gearing should be shot for for a 10R5 with a 13.5, probably not any boost.

Before anybody freaks out, I am not planning on running it on the 12th unless I can run safe during practice... just want to test the waters and maybe give Lynn a rolling speed bump to deal with..

Default Tub request

Sean,

Do you happen to have the .1 pod for the 10R5 you could throw in the tub for the 12th and would the "hot" piston setup for the TC6 work in the TC5 shocks? If so a set of those too please. And if you really want too I will let up rebuild my shocks for me since I haven't built on road shocks in a couple of years...

I would probably start about mid 70's for 13.5 no boost. With is probably going be mid to upper 60's. These are all guesses.

Default Bearing update.

I know more placed my initial order of bearings when 24 hours later, the remaining pan car bearings arrived at the distributor. These 3/16x5/16 and 1/4x3/8 will definitely not arrive in time before I leave, so if you need bearings for the upcoming Regionals, you best find some. We'll have lots after that.

There is the slimmest of chance that my first order will arrive tomorrow. I am not holding my breath. IF they show up and you are in a real pinch, PM me and I just may make a special trip to H30 tomorrow evening during the set up work party.

Thanks!

Default 12th Scale rollout?

To the 12th scale masters, looking to work on getting the 12th sorted out what rollout are you guys planning to start with? what about tire compounds? I've got black and 2x pink fronts and yellow, orange, gray rears. Thanks in advance!

I'e been running 80-82mm on the old layout... You might gear a little different now though. The new carpet might fuzz a lil bit at first, so black front and orange rear will be a good place to start. If you want just a wee bit more rotation... yellow rears. If the track isn't fuzzing or acting weird, try double pinks up front if you want more steering overall.

I wouldn't expect fuzz at all. Ehrlich said he was literally the 3rd car on the Snowbird track and came off clean (same carpet). Yea, I was running low 80's r/o. I don't know what the Snake car likes, but from your combo, put 2xpink/yellow on first and go from there. 50% CA the front side wall.

Not only no fuzz, but literally never had to clean any of my cars all week! A no air compressor needed racing surface, it's amazing stuff and we are all in for a treat! Thanks Brian and Todd!

Alvin- are you talking 13.5 or 17.5? Just clarifying since we do have the regionals coming up. 80mm rollout would be far too low for a 17.5
