So this must mean that the new carpet won't be available for the next club race? Is this correct?

We have to be out of the hangar by 4pm on Saturday. This was absolutely the only open slot for the rebuild.

Just to clarify, we ARE still going to have a race on Wednesday, right?

Whats better 64 or 48 pitch?
You'll want a final drive between 3.80 and 4.0. I was running a 3.83 last Sat.

I personally like 48 pitch but was forced to go 64 for my Tamiya 417. It depends on the car. You'll need to check how much motor adjustment you have and factor in the pinion sizes that are available. 64p is a lot more viable for onroad, you can get much larger pinion sizes than you can with 48p.

I believe we are racing Wed. On Sat, Todd mentioned the possibility of having one more race on the old carpet.

Next Wed is still a race day. So hold off on gearing up a pinion or two!

Default Wednesday Racing

Just like Kody says, next Wednesday is absolutely a normal race night on the current track. I'll be at the hangar at 5pm sharp: cocked, locked, and ready to rock. See you then.

Come on Todd, You and I both know that new rug is due any minute like premature triplets. You going to hold out now? One more day of holding out may just lead me to drop 12th and go all the way with wgt. And no more main events for you! Ringer.

Default New Carpet Delivered!

So, I met the shipping truck at the hangar this morning and unloaded the new rug. The rolls are HEAVY! Especially for just two guys. But, we got it done.

I've lined up some short-term storage in the park for our current rug. Though, obviously, I'll need help getting it there. Unfortunately, I just don't see how we can get everything swapped out before next Wednesday. The new rug needs a few hours to lay flat before we can use it. If memory serves from the last time, it won't roll out perfectly smooth.

Believe me, I'm chomping at the bit, too. But, we're almost there. Patience. One step at a time. Haste makes waste. Measure twice, cut once. Yadda yadda
