I must say that the "solid" corners demand respect, but from a safety standpoint I have never seen so many cars leave the track at speed before.
We should probably consider softening up a couple of the questionable points

Great race last night, and a challenging new layout..

Thanks to everybody that put in all the hard work

A great kickoff for the second half of the season. 44 entries for the evening's festivities.

A newly engineered track and layout had racers confronting some fresh challenges. Overall, the track is much more solidly in place throughout the race night. No more elbowing the gates as we carve the turns, and no more skewed pipes in the middle of a run. But, it also commands respect. The finest drive of the night from my perspective belongs to Canyon Thompson in the Open Touring main. He was patient through the infield, avoided mistakes, and took the win. The biggest adjustment he made to his setup was on the drivers stand to his index/trigger interface. I tried the same adjustment in the 1/12th main and experienced similar results. Though, obviously, not to include actually winning the race That would be Peter Robinson. But I added five laps!

We had another new driver, Chad Ashline, who distinguished himself in Scale Spec by wiring up lights! Dialed! Truly, a man of vision. Also, we had a reporter from the Seattle Times in the house who is writing a story about the club and our racing. Look for it in an upcoming edition. She will email me when she finds out the publication date. Her deadline is tomorrow, so it should be fairly soon.

Results attached.

Can we shorten the heats to 3min? My car was great for 3min then wanted to spin out for the last 3min. Really wierd traction last night, almost like my tires were over heating.

Hopefully a lot of people show on Sat. We need to get a nice groove down on the track and hopefully get rid of the weird traction issues.

Tell you what, you go ahead and stop at three minutes. it will give me a chance to stay close. You were getting around pretty good last night.
See ya Saturday.

-Alex

PS - my guess is that it will take a couple of races, rather than the feeling that it never really did in the past, to get a groove in place.

This seems to be the case, now that we have been spraying the track.

So give it another race day of patience, by the second round on Saturday, it could start feeling pretty good.

Yes, and 1/12 let's go 2 min. The random spin out while driving in a straight line was pure magic, I tell you.

For future reference, this is why we don't do track changes every 3 months (haha)

I'm hoping the groove will come up, I'm a bit concerned since the carpet lays a certain way now it might be a struggle. With 1/12 especially you could feel the old groove trying to steer the car.

Good luck Saturday everyone! wish I could be there!

Ugh... That was a brutal first time racing at H30 last night (and first time racing on carpet). First heat broke a caster block on the second lap, second heat the screw attaching the servo saver to the top deck and the screw holding the servo arm on the servo both backed out (now heavily loctite'd) and I lost steering - on the second lap, then in the main I broke a front arm - on the second lap.

So I seem to have completed about four complete laps throughout the entire night!

So my goal for Saturday is to complete at least one race.
